Was he the big No 20 on Saturday, if so he was their best player until they subbed him, strange decision.

It looks like Salford City are going for it again. They have signed striker Tom Elliott from Millwall.

Transfers 9 January
Billy Clarke [Plymouth - Grimsby] Free
Tom Elliott [Millwall - Salford] Free
Owen Evans [Wigan - Cheltenham] Loan
Dale Gorman [Leyton Orient - Newport County] Loan
Ryan Hardie [Blackpool - Plymouth] Loan

Would you want to sign for a club hovering above the trap door when other offers are on the table , this could be a hard time for GC in recruiting what we need .

If I'm a lower league pro footballer with a limited shelf life. I would sign for whoever dangled the biggest bag of cash.

Hardly hovering above the trap door either. We're 9 points clear of the drop.

Oldham Athletic sign Emmanuel Dieseruvwe on loan from Salford City to take them up to 22 signings for the season. Steve Evans will be taking over as manager when they get to 23 signings to make sure they can beat this next season.

I would sooner see GC take a considered approach rather than the Scottish manager's scattergun approach. We don't want anymore deadwood.

9 points is worrying when your not winning games .

Thank goodness that there are some poor teams below us however we still need around 20 points to be absolutely safe and in fairness if we continue playing as we currently are we will struggle to get that many points .I just hope the Manager can motivate them. Bringing in new players in this transfer window is always problematic because basically we get either untried youngsters needing League experience or past it cast offs . Personally I would be sniffing around Lincoln City for an inwanted midfielder or Defender and thats about it . Save the cash for next Season, clear out 6 or 7 of the current squad and recruit better players

Had a little look. The most points any team has finished 24th with in the last ten years is 48. Morecambe and Stevenage are currently on 18 points after 25 games. They would need 30 points from 21 games to match that total.

The average points total for a team finished 24th in the last ten years is 39, so 40 points on average keeps you up, and would keep you above 24th in 7 of the last 10 seasons.

So if we go by the average, we need 13 more points from an available 60. To get to 49 points, we need 22 more points.

Great signing. Sickening seeing there good players move to L2 and us not be in a position to attract.

Yep, that’s how low JD and others have let us drop.

Salford may be signing Kieran Agard too. They look likely to go up next season with all the money they’re going to chuck at it.

‘Chucking money at it’ does not guarantee promotion, after all aren’t we a perfect example of that ethos?
