Okey dokey.. Let's see if we can identify who we think is our Stagsnet Player of the Year. However, to make it fair, you can vote for up to 5 players each.

Scoring is as follows:
1st - 5pts
2nd - 4pts
3rd - 3pts
4th - 2pts
5th - 1pt

You can have joint placings, so if you have Butcher & Anderson as joint 1st, they would get 4.5 pts each (and you would need your head examining )

A few comments on why you have selected each player would be interesting. Here's mine:

Joint 1st - Neal Bishop - Stags have needed a player like this for the best part of 15 years
Joint 1st - Krystian Pearce - Will probably be part of an All-Time best Stags XI if he keeps up his performances for a couple more years.
3rd - Tyler Walker - 20+ goals in a season, enough said
4th - Haydn White - Hugely underrated, and seriously missed once he got injured
5th - Bobby Olejnik - Showed real quality, and seriously missed once he got injured

2 & 3. I’ll go for the allowed split, Bishop & Walker. Bishop has filled a void we’ve had for years and Walkers goals have won us a lot of points. Over 20 goals is a great achievement.

Feel like it’s harsh on a fair few players for them to not be in the top 5. Sweeney has been fantastic and I’d have him on a par with Preston. Benning and Mellis have also had good seasons, and as mentioned Olejnik and White would probably be right up there but for their injuries. It’s never usually that difficult to pick a top 5, I just pray we can finish this season in the top 3!

Why? for example, Bishop didn't get into the EFL team of the year because there are some oustanding players in his position in this division such as Danny mayer at Bury, that doesn't mean that he can't be considered our Player of the year does it?

Gone Bish over Pearce as I think the influance he’s had at 37 is unbelievable, we know KP is fantastic season after season, I think a few people were unsure if Bishop could still do it at his age

I can't argue with Walker's class and goalscoring record, but for me he's a little frustrating at times and needs to be a bit more aggressive. He'd be on a list of 6 though. Our biggest strengths this season have been the defence, midfield stability, and the unpredictability of CJ's swift attacks flanked by White and Benning's surging forward runs.
