Looks like decent weather as well = 20c odd :mexican_wave:

Good confidence boosting 3-0 win infront of 5,200 or so (let down by only 100 or so Morecambe fans)

0-0 with the ball in play for about 5 minutes due to Trevor Kettle.

Important to get at them from the start playing the good football we’ve played for most of the season, an early goal would settle the nerves. My team would be...

......................Smith...................

........ Preston Pearce Sweeney......

Hamilton...Bishop...Mellis....Benning

......................Grant...................

..............Walker .....Rose.............

Expect Logan to start in goal though, not overly fussed who plays as I don’t think there’s much in it. I think Hamilton will effect the game more out wide as opposed to up top, where I can’t see there being much space in behind + the attack should give him plenty of options to pick out for crosses. Midfield much more attacking too but we should be taking the game to Morecambe with plenty of intensity so I’d be happy with the slightly riskier midfield.

Every game huge now, so despite the line-up I’d be more than happy with a 1-0 of course!

Wouldn’t be opposed to it, he’s a tidy player when he gets it down. Would be happy enough with either, just know that at least one of Mellis or Grant needs to be back in!

Kev'll be on it for sure and winding our lot up. He'll have done his job when one of ours over reacts to one of Kev's little niggles and Kettle boils over and sends them off. I reckon it's gonna be tough, we'll struggle to manufacture a chance, become frustrated and spend all 2nd half lumping it to our inconsistent lads up front who'll watch hopelessly as the ball sails over their heads.

But then again it could be different and we'll show why we're top three and give em a pasting.

Mellis and Grant have shown they struggle together. Keep Tomlinson alongside Bish and play either Grant or Mellis behind the strikers.

What's our record in games reffed by Trevor Kettle?

It will be hard to play a fast high tempo game with him in charge. He will help to slow the game down and also let the Morecambe keeper take loads of time over goal kicks because he is not fit enough and needs a breather himself.

And me, I can't make it due to being stuck at work. I work a standard Monday to Friday routine.
Good Friday is not classed as a "proper" bank holiday unfortunately. We get Bank Holiday Monday and the following Tuesday instead.
Can't believe we are playing a game on a normal week day rather than a Saturday at 3pm (GRRRRRRRRRRRRR)
Hoping for snow, ice, pestilence, locusts or the second coming etc so the game gets rescheduled to a civilised kick off time.

Not true for games at Field Mill in my opinion. In games where Mellis and Grant have both started at HOME we have a record of Played 7, Won 5, Drawn 1, lost 1.

Crawley - won
Tranmere - won
Macclesfield - won
Forest green - won
Cheltenham - won
Lincoln - draw
Crewe - lost

The conceded goals against Lincoln and Crewe all came after Grant had been taken off.

Agree that away from home it isn’t a good idea to start them together, and even though the above doesn’t necassarily account for individual performances, I don’t think having them both in the same team for a home fixture against Morecambe would be a problem.

Since we have been back in League had him nine times, won 5 and drawn 4.

Swindon (H) 0-0
Northampton (H) 4-0
Cambridge (A) 0-0
Port Vale (A) 4-0
Derby u23 (A) 3-2
Barnet (A) 3-1
Cheltenham (A) 1-1
Rochdale (H) 3-0
Burton (H) 0-0

Sent off two ( one from each side) at Barnet for two yellow - Chris Clements for us

Bookings total in 9 games - us 16, opponents 22

So overall not a bad ref from our point of view.

no. Same as the Christmas period, no match passes for League Two games on Good Friday or Easter Monday.
