Up to DF to try and get some confidence back in them players now, this is where a manager proves themselves.

It’s not mentality we are a one trick pony easy to set up against , we haven’t had a plan B all season and for all Flitcrofts buffle in interviews he hasn’t a answer ...

Correct, Ajose wouldn’t know what a goal was if it smacked him in the face

Goals especially first ones change games. He missed the pen at Vale then the comical miss today. What the chuffed was he doing, fantastic cross from Walker for an easy nod/chest in and he just laid on the floor and didn't even touch it

Much as most on here will hate to hear it, Steve Evans' style is better suited to getting us out of this league. Pretty football and powderpuff strikers just won't get us promoted. Sometimes you just need to play it long to a big nasty donkey capable of nutting it in the net. Nice football on the grass is good for the league above but is rarely successful in Division 4. The lack of urgency is the first half was what alarmed me the most. And why do we have so few ballboys to get the ball back in play quickly? But we are where we now and now need to dust ourselves off and go again at Exeter. Come on you Stags!

Or shows how inept they are.

On the current showing, I think we are doing a Notts County. Well in for automatic then fading to play off outsiders and they ultimately failed miserably .

I hope I am wrong but things just don't seem right at the moment. For what ever reason we are falling flat on our faces and need to jump up very quickly.

Don't start with that 'tater, it's a serious business you know, and any light hearted talk of 'ownership' and wasting pages is to be frowned upon, though God knows we need something light hearted right now.
I do believe though the Runes may have come down differently had I done it though

I have considered the situation, the bogs are fixed, diarised the Fred, and will be back for hopefully not a 'Greek Tragedy ' next week.

Onwards and upwards, reboot the team Mr Flitcroft and lets get back to it.

Hidden in this thread was a one line comment about the pitch but it was true.......why do we keep watering it....is it on a programme no one can change or are we bound by EFL rules or something?

Mellis slipped when positioned for a clear shot at goal and Pearce slipped for their second goal amongst many others that kept going down.

Its not about Doom and Gloom and sticking with the club as part of the Happy Clappy Brigade its about pride and passion and wanting success.

Its all very well for DF being loyal to his team but his priority is to the Club, the Owners and Us by whatever means it takes. Things were awful yeasterday but they started to go off since Boxing Day and have been going downhill since with one or two good games but generally weve been lacking. He needs to forget the loyalty to individuals and use his squad.....CJ has done almost nothing (bar the two goals against Cheltenham) since New Year, Grant has been woeful since Notts County and Mellis has gone down with him.....Jones is nothing more than a defensive player (wheres Callum Butcher when you need him) and Bish apart have we got anyone in midfield or up front who wants to give blood and get stuck in. Weve bbeen missing a target centre forward all season and Ive said elsewhere why are we pumping high balls up to Walker and CJ to lose every header. DF needs to be accountable and make the changes otherwise we are gone.

Today we are drawing 0-0 and he takes by far our most creative player off and brings on Macca who looked knackered within 5 minutes. The formation was clearly not working, yet his only reaction was to put a centre back up front at 2-0 down.
Also any manager who gives any game time to Ajose wants sacking, maybe the worst striker I have ever seen and that isn't just the anger talking.

Bottling it ,we lost a game today ,its hardly bottling it ,your bottling it ,were still in this my god i think your a glass half full type

We’ve lost against Newport, County, Port Vale, Crewe, and a draw against a poor Crawley side (who Crewe smashed 6 Past days later) all games we should be getting more points from. We were 7 points clear were we at one stage, maybe more? Now 2 wins in 8 going in to crunch time...no wonder folk have that view! It’s not over yet, but we’ve got to get a massive win next week at Exeter and hope that kicks starts us again. Got to make a few changes to the side and try and get back to where we were at 2 months ago and see where it takes us.

Spot on BH, plus the 7 points we've lost to Yeovil and Macc..

David Artell explained how the game plan he devised while watching Stags draw with Lincoln on Monday came up trumps. “Our game plan worked today. We said after 60 minutes Mansfield will blow up,”

That does not make good reading for DF as one of his excuses for last season's collapse was the players were not fit enough under Evans.

Hes not talking about fitness... he's saying after an hour of failing to score we implode and don't know what to do, the pressure causes us to make stupid mistakes.

He's also talking out of his backside. Before yesterday, this year alone between 60mins and 90mins we've scored 12 and conceded 4.

Preston and Sweeney can play. Pearce can't really play but is a great defender, probably our best, most committed defender.

On the ball, Pearce is the better of the 3

Crewe's 2nd goal was all from Pearce being 'on the ball's.

He makes me nervous with the ball at his feet.

It's so obvious to anyone watching us. Since Davis has been crocked we've had nobody other than an off form Rose in this role. Next season we need to find someone a little more robust than Davis and a little more prolific than Rose to lead the line or we'll be in the same position in Lge2 watching others gallop on by us to the Promised Land of Lge 1.
Yes the last sentence is negative in the extreme I know, but for me the team has hit too many hurdles of recent times and is in a terminal stumble and going to face plant just short of the finish line.

Unless of course the team find some spunk somewhere !!
