The Battle of the Countys (League 2 Games Tuesday 19th Feb)

Postby Tippy Tappy Football » Tue Feb 19, 2019 8:01 pm

Fraser Franks puts Newport County 1-0 up from a Robbie Wilmott cross but Notts County equalise within 30 seconds from the kick off. Kane Hemmings heads home after Jim O'Brien's shot is parried by Joe Day.

Sounds a rip snorter of a game Darren, a bit different to the dross we served up Saturday.

This is for the rest of tonight's games as well.

Robbie Wilmott collects a short throw from Demetriou and crosses to Padraig Amond at the far post who heads across goal for Jamille Matt to head home to make it 2-1 to Newport.

After the lord mayor's show syndrome, Saturday was their cup final and they only have 11 players tonight ;)

Interestingly mackail-smith is on the bench though.

Scott Bennett skins Mitch Rose at right back! Why didn't CJ run at him on Saturday?

Jamille Matt is a real handful up front for Newport. Padraid Amond is playing well also. Regan Poole doing well on the right in defence.

Two of Newport's midfield players have been yellow carded for pulling Notts County players back on counter attacks., Joss Labadie and Scott Bennett.

He seems to be low on confidence even when he had opportunity on Saturday to take someone on he would look back and pass into the middle.

How we could do with CJ to replicate his match winning performances of three months ago on Saturday though.

If it wasn't CJ it was Walker stepping up to the plate around that time need one or both to get their shooting boots back on against FGR.

Big bump back down to earth tonight for the bedwetters.

Macc had a resurgence then fell flat. Be the same for Notts.

Strange feelings tonight. Half of me is glad Clownty have been shown up for what they are, the other half is seething at our ineptitude against them.
