Bitter Anderson wants to prove Flitcroft wrong at new club

Postby Chadman » Mon Feb 18, 2019 12:01 pm

Paul Anderson on his departure from Stags, how he felt bitter at being frozen out and how he wants to prove Flitcroft wrong when he signs for a new club, probably this week . . .

He’s not good enough to prove anyone wrong. I never saw him play well. Bang average most of the time.

Even if he's a bit average, surely he'd have been useful as a squad player. I'd like to hear Flitcroft's version of events but it all seems very peculiar.

Agreed, pity he wasn't in the crowd for Saturday's game. He would have witnessed first hand what standard is required to play for the current Stags team in terms of commitment, bravery, effort, endeavour, ability, teamwork, guile, skill, concentration etc etc.
OK. I am still hurting after almost 48 hours (I usually get over defeats quicker than this) so I should not lash out I suppose.
I am confident that come Saturday all of "us" fans have all got rid of all the frustration and anger that is probably still festering even now days later and are ready to get behind the lads 100%.
Roll on Saturday, we start again.

Saw Anderson play a few good games for stags especially 1st few games he played ,thought he was one of our better signings , better player than Atkinson and he was given a 2nd chance by flitcroft , but we dont know what goes on behind the scenes

Too right we are hurting bud and the hurt is a nasty sort of hurt. Anyone there on Sat would've clapped them off if they'd have lost giving it everything they had, had the Clownty keeper named as MOTM because of some worldy saves to keep Clownty ahead, pressurized a bang average (and they were bang average, not World beaters) Pies and not tossed it off for 90mins like they did. I can live with defeat, I can't though live with limp wristed surrender like we witnessed on Sat.

The 'build' of the U18s free against FGR and Cheltenham has taken a proper hammering with the poor displays at County and Clownty, it wouldn't surprise me to see the crowd down on the Macc game for both these games now. Young lads who went on Sat will think 'bloody hell I'm not going to watch that pile of crap even if it's free'.

Players have said Atkinson is the best trainer at the club, these are the things we don't see.

Did I read that right? "other people have control over your careers"

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but Anderson had the opportunity to leave back in the summer and again in the winter. He refused to go. You can't be told to look for another club, refuse to leave and then moan because you didn't have the opportunity. For me, this is clearly Anderson refusing to take a pay cut elsewhere. We paid him off because there was no point in him staying and being paid.

If i had just milked my former employer for a tidy load of cash for doing not a lot for it i would be more inclined to keep stum about it.

I can understand why he is feeling as he does, maybe we would all feel that way if we had seemingly done nothing wrong.

What happened I do not know and there isn't anyone who is prepared to say, so we move on and so does Anderson.

Good luck to him, I always thought he did reasonably well.

Don't blame Anderson for not leaving , would you leave your job for a massive pay cut ,dont think you would , Evans probably to blame signing lots of players on very high wages and 2 year contracts

He probably could if you weren’t wanting £4,000 a week.

I agree. He had two opportunities to leave, but didn’t until his contract was paid up.

I don't blame Anderson for staying, especially if he was to take a huge pay cut. My issue is with his claim that others had control over his career. He had a choice of move on and get paid what you are worth or stay and rot in the reserves. Anderson CHOSE to stay and rot. It was his career choice. The idea someone else had control over this is absurd. That's my main gripe with this, he made his choice then moans about it like he had no control over it.

He had control. If that means a pay cut it doesn't matter, he could have still left if he wanted.

The fact we've paid him off and now he's lashing out shows a lack of class. I wish we'd kept him and let him rot longer having seen this.

He sounds very bitter but he should have left last summer, he chose to stay and therefore I have no sympathy.

He wont be the last player to feel this way
Seems commonplace and its football and as he says it is what it is.
We have had some players here who did not shine out at al for us but went on to do well and Peter Vincenti is an example.

The One, thought your last comment was a little unfair but if that's your opinion you have a right to it.

Good luck to him at Plymouth, at least he won't be scoring against us this season
