I seem to recall that Carolyn said more news would be provided regarding this in March 2020 in one of her Q+A's on twitter.

I think the branding of the Hilton, Hampton or Double tree, signifies the offer a bit like a regular ibis versus an ibis budget.

I think the issue is that Mansfield was underserved for hotels and now there’s about 4 with planning permission which would probably end up as overkill and a less straightforward investment decision.

Can't see us going ahead now the travelodge is well underway.

I said before I didnt think the town even needed one. Time will tell with this new one and how well it does i guess. Happy to be prove wrong.

Would be a huge gamble to build another now.

I thought the majority opinion (on the various forums/polls) was to redevelop the Bishop St. stand first? So let's do that. It is long overdue.

The plans looked great. It would have taken our stadium to the next level while also being an income generation and another thing for the town.

Very sad if they've lost a march.

Im not convinced it will come to fruition now.

I wonder, if we build the hotel, you could get a discounted room if it had a view of the pitch?

Quick phone Amazon and tell them not to come to Mansfield. Ooops too late.

So you’d rather have a Amazon warehouse than let’s say a Car plant or major Aerospace giant setting up in town ? Do you think this town prosperity is going to be built on the back of warehousing

The four views Hotel at the Wonky Mill already starting to sound like a episode from Faulty Towers.

Rooms most expensive view over the pitch with the eye catching (sore) View of Bishop Street Stand.

Rooms Superior Over looking the Dam with the eye catching (sore) steam ejaculation from Imperial Laundry.

Rooms Standard Views over the Wonky Mill Car Park n Sandy Bistro n 5aside nets.

Rooms Box Standard Views over the Fitness Gym n Tractor Shed.

I think what he means is, there is a real dearth of quality employment in town. It's the main reason why our graduate retention is so poor. Kids go to Uni & there's nothing for them to come back to.

It's been like that since, well forever really.

And he doesn't think that a world leader like Amazon will open other companies eyes to the benefits of being in Mansfield. Nah just much easier to slag the town off.
