I have been thinking for a while that Pearce should be going up for the corners at the expense of one of the other centre-halves.
He was very effective doing that last season - let's hope he continues to do that from now on.

Third goal looked offside from the camera. I presume it wasn’t ?

It looked close. There was a defender between him and the linesman. If it was it would balance off the wrongly disallowed Sweeney goal v Tranmere.

That Lino was awful all afternoon, never up with play and made a number of poor non-calls when he should have flagged imo

To be fair to any assistant referee the officials discuss the game pre match and the referee tells his assistants his/her expectations and what to flag for etc.

It could be the referee said to the assistant pre match not to flag in certain circumstances and leave those decisions to him as overarching referee

He has always gone up for corners, the only ones who stay back are Mel and CJ

I thought the ref was pretty poor too, but then I always do. ;)
