Bad day in the office....Nothing more

Postby lancer » Sat Jan 05, 2019 5:02 pm

This was always going to be a tough ask and the run had to come to an end.
The inexcusable sending off of Bishop obviously didnt help. But lets not lose our heads, we have 2 very winnable home games to come and with a couple of signings we will be up there this season. Its just very odd how many teams are in the top half of the table are "in form"
Lets put this behind us, move on to Saturday and pack the Mill

Blip. Well done to the players, staff and management on a magnificent run. Now let's go again. No excuses for Bishop though. Totally unprofessional.Should be fined and dropped. He's a yard off the pace anyway and should be used sparingly now.

I agree Bish has been a cracking player for us but I thought he looked tired on New Year's Day at Grimsby. Atkinson had energy today and should be an automatic replacement. Bish would never admit he is a yard short at the mo, but two games two bookings he is getting frustrated with his performance of that I am sure.

A magnificent run has come to an end. Now to start another one.

Don't know what Bishop did to be sent off, but he's been good for us, so I think we can excuse this hiccup.

Full marks to the lads for battling to the end. Starting the second half two goals down and a man short and losing by the odd goal in five, we shouldn't be too disappointed.

Onwards and upwards.

Bishop could do with the rest to be honest. So many games close together is tough for most pros, never mind a 37 year old.

Hopefully he’ll come back fit & in full form against Crawley.

3-2 flattered us they were far better, DevittNadesan and Hope ran us ragged. A very bad day at the office, the measure of the team will be how they respond. Atkinson was excellent when he came on, the rest Meh

It is all about the response now. Yeovil will look to shut us out so we need to be clever and creative.

Was Elsnik injured? Or was it a tactical change?

Bishop was having a decent game, got wound up by their lad and clearly lost it.

It’s unprofessional for a player his age and he should know better. He’ll probably get a fine, serve his ban and draw a line in the sand

He’s more than enough credit in the bank by some considerable margin to afford today’s misdemeanour. Not that he needed a break but maybe the enforced break will aid him and us in the long run this season.

Today was a blip and the first half was quite easily the worst I’ve been this season, but after such good unbeaten runs in general and away it had to come to an end sometime.

We’re fortunate that we’ve Yeovil and Crawley at home next, which is the perfect 2 games to rebuild and get back on track.

Predictable abuse from the bedsit intelligentsia. Ive seen loads of games this year and Bish, bless him has gone. His second touch is a slide tackle. He should be playing 20 games this season maximum. To be involved in aggro is unforgivable for someone of his experience. Fire at will all you keyboard warriors, UDM apologists and serial patronisers....

I really can’t see where you’re coming from on that one at all. He’s mastered the hectic Christmas period admirably. Danny rose could do with taking a leaf out of his book.

Danny Rose hasn't played. Bishop shouldn't either. Been a fine player but he's way past it now for a 46 game season. If it was a kid from the youth team getting red carded at half time this board would be ablaze. Bishop should know better
