Problem with them is the shirt construction and material... this dictates the design so much. Because they use a basic shirt panel construction, the material has to be cheap for production and this means there's only so much they can do design wise, hence all our kits are pretty much the same with printed on graphics, The long blue stripe, the fade etc. Its not really their choice as they're a small company but I think were the only professional club still using them, everyone else has dropped them because off the poor quality. They only included an embroiled badge because fans pulled them up on it.

I know people at Umbro and filmed some of their campaign videos for Derby and Blackburn. They did me a mock up stags kit and its the nicest thing I've ever seen, it looked so smart and professional.

We are a small club with a small limited market.

Anyone know how many Stags shirts are sold annually?

Clubs such as Derby and Blackburn cannot be compared with ours, those clubs can afford to make less per shirt in profit and therefore pay more to their manufacturers for a better product.

Having said that, what's so wrong with the Stag's shirts, seem ok to me.

I don't think the quality can ever be as bad as when we were sponsored by VK, the shirt I had with the blue strip through the middle looked like itnwas made in an asian sweat shop, the quality of that shirt was poor, the printing washed off etc, I still have mine though, ad I got it signed by the squad that season, for some reason lol

Aren’t all replicate kits made in Asian sweat shops.

I used to take mine back when the sponsor washed off and get it replaced with a new one. Must have had about 5 or home and away shirts during that era for the price of 1. I was only about 13/14 so those shirts used to get some right hammer.

What’s wrong with Surridge ?

It's not Nike, Adidas, Puma etc and the young guys feel they'll be laughed at and have no kudos with their mates and the chicks if they are forced to wear Surridge stuff. It'll not go well with the Stone Island stuff either, so even if it's the best design ever it'll get the thumbs down.
It could be Spireite Blue in colour for all they care but if Nike made it and had a Nike badge emblazoned on it it'd sell out within a week.

I like the current home shirt. The problem is that blue shorts make it look like they are wearing their shorts uncomfortably high. Maybe that's the secret to our success, opponents think we are playing with a wedgie and are uncomfortable about it

Load of rubbish, its nothing to do with the brand name its the incredibly poor material they use. They're shocking for a professional club.. As I said before all other pro teams dropped them after a season or two. The material is cheap, the construction is shoddy, the printed on blue bits of the designs are messy and the designs are average... the only good thing is they are slightly unique. The Retro third kit they did was good, Id like to see a retro home kit with no logos on it just a club badge.

Ive taken two home shirts back because one had a sleeve shorter than the other, the other had a section of shirt across the back a complete different shade of amber, it looked stupid... not to mention the printed on badges.. my mates Sunday league pub side, The Gun in hackney, have a better kit than us.

I do like the current design, but its a copy of the old Galatasaray third kit that Nike did and revisited for Tottenhams new kit.

They supply university teams and ammeter clubs for a reason. They are cheap. The fact the club charges £40 is a laugh.

Kits

Postby tibby » Fri Feb 01, 2019 10:19 am

Are they both being changed end of the season? Swore I would never buy one, but my lad wants to spend some of his Christmas money!

Cheers

New Home Shirt

Postby ash_bradley » Sun Mar 31, 2019 2:40 pm

2 questions..

1 - When does the idea get put to fans online?

2 - When does it normally get released? Is it normally when pre season friendly's start (July time)?

I haven't bought a proper shirt in a while - Will be good to get the new one for next season..
