Stags programme needed to complete lifetimes work

Martin Batchelor boasts a collection of Hull City programmes like no other.

A total of 3,435 fill bookcases that stretch from floor to ceiling in the spare room of his home in Oxford, including one from every City home fixture since the Second World War.

There are another 191 from friendly games dating as far back as 1949 but there is now just one souvenir missing to complete a lifetime’s work.

Mansfield Town versus Hull City on December 1, 1956 is the only programme Batchelor does not own in a hoard dating back to his date of birth earlier that year.

Programme fairs have been scoured and Ebay pages reloaded but the search continues to draw a blank.

A DM to a fellow West Mids exiled fan called "Brum" who posts on here might be a good shout. He's not as regular a Stagsnet viewer as he once was so the DM approach might be good.

If I'd got one and it was as rare as it looks how much d'ya reckon he'd be willing to pay to complete the lifetimes work?

Hi Nick, hope you well mate. I finished building house so back regular again, besides the youngest is now hooked to the amber/blue and won't let me miss a game! She almost got swayed to St Andrews but thankfully another addition to the Birmingham branch supporters club.
I will have this programme so will send message to the Tigers fan.

Great news Brum, if you do have it then let me know and I'll be able to put you in touch with him through another Hull fan.

Edit - sorry didn't see there was a Twitter address in the article

Andy - that's great mate, glad you got the house sorted, managed to get back to going regular and got the programme as well. I thought someone who collects them would appreciate the request for help from another like you! Oh and great news that the youngest hasn't become a Bluenose or Villa. I got work to do on mine... :-)

We can kick off the lift shares again pal. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
