Wasn’t it an away game In Macclesfield where Sol Campbell made his one and only appearance for Notts County under Sven?

Yes I believe so, I think that’s when he realised Notts weren’t in the Premier League!

;) Morecambe

Notts County
Campbell signed a five-year deal with League Two side Notts County in August 2009.[73] Campbell said that County, who had recently been the subject of a takeover by a Middle Eastern consortium, were the best club for "where I am at the moment in my life", and that the recent appointment of ex-England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson as director of football played a "big role" in his decision. He made his debut for County in a 2–1 defeat to Morecambe at Christie Park on 19 September.[74] He walked out on the club three days later, and his contract was cancelled by mutual consent on 24 September. He later admitted he felt embarrassed and that "I was being a mug" in believing the club's owner's were ambitious billionaires who intended to take the club into the Premier League.[75]

Sol holds a EUFA pro licence and has worked with Trinidad & Tobago, as well as England U21s, but Fleetwood went with Joey Barton, with lesser qualifications and lesser experience, who started the post the day after his 18 month ban for gambling. No racism in football.

You have no idea why Fleetwood picked Barton over Campbell.
It could quit easily have been Sols wage demands, back room staff or any number of other reasons.
Maybe Barton was just far more passionate and interviewed better.
To try and put it down to racism without the facts is comical.

Now Sol has finally got his chance I hope he stops blaming everyone else for his stunted career progression. His success is in his own hands. He has gone into Macclesfield at a crisis like Paul Ince did. Paul Ince was a success. Sol will now have to walk the walk and prove he has what it takes. Lesser managers will fail and get Macclesfield relegated. He needs to prove he is an exception and deserves his chance.
History will tell in the end.

Barton is friends with the Fleetwood chairman, Andy Pilley.

Always been a mercenary. Went from being to Spurs captain to signing for Arsenal (who does that?!) and jponed Notts just for a quick 40k with no intention of playing for them.

Hardly a mercenary. He spent 9 years with Spurs, 5 with Arsenal & 3 with Pompey. 3 clubs in 17 years shows far more loyalty to clubs than most players do. Flitted about a bit in the twilight of his career, but that is also common in football.

He won 1 league cup with Spurs in 9 years, but 2 titles & 2 FA Cups in 5 years with the Gunners. As bitter as his move was for Spurs fans to swallow, he was at a point where his potential was never going to be fulfilled at Spurs.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Well said.

Paul Ince did the same, when in reality he was just raspberries (in a management capacity)
