Ryan Sweeney

Postby Warsop Stag » Wed Nov 07, 2018 10:29 am

A post in praise of Ryan, who I reckon has been superb for us so far this season.

He’s strong in the air, composed and good on the floor. See how many times he brings the ball out from defence and rolls a proper pass to the feet to one of the strikers.

A very consistent performer and a major factor in our excellent defensive record.

Keep it going, Ry.

My only gripe with him is he can be slow to distribute the ball, otherwise great. Is that over confidence?

I wonder if we can acquire him on a permanent basis?

Miles better at distributing it than Preston is though

I’d take him, definitely. At the rate he’s improving with us, he can play at a higher level for sure.

I’d actually put him on par with Tafazolli, when he was here, in terms of his all round game.

Wow....if he’s awful what’s Preston and Pearce.

He's not great on the ball but has definitely improved since his first game. I must admit I had my heart in my mouth in stoppage time last night when he was last man and took on their striker!

Defensively he is fine, not the quickest but very good in the air.

took on their man , then decided to put the ball out of play! he looks a good player, but sometimes looks like he's gonna drop a clanger

Exactly. He's our best on the ball centre half by a mile.

Good player and solid defender. I agree he could move the ball a bit quicker sometimes but really his job is to get it to someone else and if he does that then all good.

Good defender, bloody shocking on the ball, quite funny to watch when winning if not makes me very nervous.
