They were bad games to lose

When we did it was sweet as it was against the odds. This time we are defending 3rd position and are away this time. Bookies have us at around 50% to avoid defeat. Falling out of the top 3 after weeks of occupying these positions would be gutting.KirkbyStag2 wrote:We've just got to win (or maybe draw) our own game to gain promotion
Whereas in our last 2 promotions from this division we not only had to WIN our last game BUT we also had to rely on another team beating our promotion rival.
2001/02
We had to beat Carlisle and hope Plymouth done us a favour by beating Cheltenham who were 2 points above us with a better GD.
1991/92
We had to beat Rochdale and hope Lincoln done us a favour by beating Blackpool who were 2 points above us with a better GD

Only three teams in the last 20 years have managed to win promotion with 79 points or less. Port Vale did it with 78 points in 2012-2013, Wycombe did it with 79 points in 2010-2011 and a team called Mansfield Town did it with 79 points in 2002-2003.
Amazingly we still do have a great chance of automatic promotion with a win at MK Dons. Let's bless our lucky stars, enjoy the moment and go for it. It could be one of the best days in our history. COYS!!!

Shows how poor the League has been this year. Lincoln Champions too and will not break 90 points. For us to fail would be hard to take.

How can the lack of a runaway winner prove it’s been a poor league ? I would say it’s more competitive than anything else.
