Injuries will be key. If we can remain 'relatively' injury-free for the next 16 games, then we have a great chance.

However, injuries to the likes of Bishop, Pearce, Walker, Grant, CJ etc. ....... could derail things. In fact, there are so many players that you could put on that list, that it shows that our first eleven are quality players, but our reserves are nowhere near as good. Even our bench isn't that strong. So fingers crossed we can remain injury free.

Considering it's largely DF's squad now not quite a hacked together mess. I fancy our chances. but this is football, anything can happen.

Looking at tonight's table it's now all in our own hands.
Get as many points as those around us and we're promoted, don't have to rely on anyone else or games in hand.

If Bishop gets injured then I would be very worried, he is our best player this season and makes everything click.

I agree. There are many candidates, but Bishop is the one we most need to keep injury free. Grant & Walker are pretty crucial too.

I'd chuck Pearce in that category too.

I'm assuming 81 points will be enough for automatic promotion, TOP 3 finish.

Current Table
PLD.....W......D.....L......PTS.......PPG
31......15.....13....3.......58.......1.87

Required for 81 points
PLD.....W.....D.......L......PTS......PPG
15.......7......2.......6.......23......1.53
15.......6......5.......4.......23......1.53
15.......5......8.......2.......23......1.53
15.......4.....11......0.......23......1.53

Based on our current PPG 1.87 we would finish on 86 points, which is usually Top 3, automatic promotion.

In our last 10 league games we've averaged PPG 2.0

Best defensive record in the division, only conceding 24 goals in 31 games.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Forget the stats, let's just concentrate and win our games and we will get promoted. Simple.

No, it's not. Kirkby's Current Table shows PPG as 1.87 and that's correct.

Why are talking about top 3. Let's go up as Champions. The Lincoln game could be the decider.

We have now officially played each team once. As i did last year working on the basis that if you win at home and draw away i.e take 4pts per team you'll get 92 points .Below is the road map for the remaining reverse fixtures and outcome required to secure 4pts against each team.

The defeat against Exeter means only 3pts rather than 4pts are attainable setting 91pts as the starting target.

Bury H (W) (W) +0 91pts
Swindon H (W) (D) -2 89pts
Grimsby A (D) (W) +2 91pts
Carlisle A (D) (L) -1 90pts
Yeovil H (W) (L) -3 87pts
Colchester A (W) (W) +0 87pts
Tranmere H (W) (W) +0 87pts
Macclesfield H (W) (W) +0 87pts
Newport A (D)
Notts County A (D)
Forest Green H (W)
Cheltenham H (W)
Port Vale A (D)
Crawley A (D)
Lincoln H (W)
Crewe H (D)
Exeter A (W)
Cambridge H (W)
Northampton A (D)
Morecambe H (D)
Oldham A (W)
Stevenage H (D)
MK Dons A (W)

15 games remain - 7 Wins 8 Draws will give us 87 points.

14.......7......2.......5.......23......1.64
14.......6......5.......3.......23......1.64
14.......5......8.......1.......23......1.64

Based on our current PPG 1.81 we would finish on 83 points, which is usually Top 3, automatic promotion.

Games remaining against top 8 teams.

Lincoln - 6
Stags - 4
Bury - 3
Mk Dons - 5
Colchester - 6
Carlisle - 5
Forest Green - 6
Exeter - 5

Still plenty of games to be played in and amongst the top third of the table which does mean points are guaranteed to be dropped by some teams.

I'm assuming 81 points will be enough for automatic promotion, TOP 3 finish.

Current Table
PLD.....W......D.....L......PTS.......PPG
33......15.....13....5.......58.......1.76

Required for 81 points
PLD.....W.....D.......L......PTS......PPG
13.......7......2.......4.......23......1.77 (same as Stags last 13 games)
13.......6......5.......2.......23......1.77
13.......5......8.......0.......23......1.77

Based on our current PPG 1.76 we would finish on 81 points, which is usually Top 3, automatic promotion.

In our last 10 league games we've averaged PPG 1.6

Best defensive record in the division, only conceding 26 goals in 33 games.

Very disappointing performance today, Flitcroft did call it correctly after the game, Stags just didn't turn up!

Although not the reason for Stags defeat, I thought the referee was really really poor, a homer, I was expecting a lot better from a Premiership ref.

Anyway, hoping this is a blip in a successful season, Forest Green now a massive game next Saturday.

We have two games at home followed by two away before two more at home from where we are now.

In other words four home and two away out of the next six fixtures. If the team and management want to keep the pressure off themselves then a minimum of 14 points is a must from these games. Other teams around us will drop points but if we maintain our points haul we will get promoted, maybe not as champions but playing in league one next season - which is surely all that matters.

These next six games will define our season imo
Endeavoring to persevere since 1965 (8-1 home win against QPR)
