I'm assuming 81 points will be enough for automatic promotion, TOP 3 finish.

Current Table
PLD.....W......D.....L......PTS......PPG
40......18.....15....7......69.......1.72

Required for 81 points
PLD....W......D......L......PTS......PPG
6.......4.......0......2.......12......2.00
6.......3.......3......0.......12......2.00

Based on our current PPG 1.72 we would finish on 79 points, which is usually Play-Offs.

Tuesday 2nd April
Bury v Cambridge
Oldham v Tranmere

Saturday 6th April
Carlisle v Bury
MK Dons v Lincoln
Stags v Cambridge
Newport v Tranmere

I have said so all season and I won’t change now.

It’s in our own hands - the Mansfield Town way alternatively known as the frustratingly nerve racking hard way.

Come on you Stags!!

Based on the average PPG of future opponents (taking into account HOME/AWAY results) The Stags have an easier run-in.

..................PPG
Lincoln........1.54
MK Dons.....1.56
Bury...........1.45
STAGS........1.34
Tranmere....1.70

At the other end of the table The Pies have the most difficult run-in.

................PPG
Yeovil........1.34
PIES..........1.41
Macc.........1.14

15th place secured today given our superior goal difference over Cheltenham.

Closing in on that top half finish.

Looking at the fixtures i would say most certainly that we could be in the top 3 ,in fact imo i think we almost certainly will ,lets hope yesterdays result galvanises us now if we can keep that up it will be settled before we head to mk :coys:

Next couple of fixtures means its imperative we take 6 points. Of course plenty of permutations but could look like this if we do.

Bury v Cambridge - H
Oldham v Tranmere - A

Carlisle v Bury - D
Mansfield v Cambridge - H
Mk Dons v Lincoln - D
Newport v Tramere - A

Bury v Colchester - H
Lincoln v Cheltenham - H
Northampton v Mansfield - A
Tranmere v Mk Dons - D

This would mean the table looks like this after 42 games.

Lincoln - 84pts
Bury - 78pts
Mansfield - 75pts
Tranmere - 74pts
MK Dons - 74pts

We need 6pts, we need Lincoln to get something at Mk Dons and Mk Dons to get something at Tranmere.

This assumes most other games go to form, but how will mayor's red card impact Bury? Newport have games to get into the play-offs so may spring a surprise against Tranmere.

Herpes perhaps?? :P

I'd expect MK or Bury to lose one more this season, but (for me) it all comes down to whether Saturday marks a return to form for us. I agree that a couple more wins in the next 2 games will definitely get the lads fired up and brimming with belief
If i look in pain it's because i'm thinking

Newport are quite good at home due to the pitch factor. I don't think it would be much of a surprise if they got something against Tranmere.

I would not put much hope in Carlisle beating Bury. Carlisle are in freefall (one win in ten) since Steven Pressley took over and the fans are turning on him.

A bit like Clownty when we went to the Lane. If Bury turn up with the attitude we did when we went to Notts then anything could happen. In football you always expect the unexpected.

MK Dons v Port Vale
Bury v Northampton
Oldham v STAGS
Lincoln v Tranmere

Saturday 27th April

Lincoln have now been given 6,000 tickets for MK Dons on Saturday, they’ve sold 5,300 so far

Yes the Imps can have the silverware if they want it, as I've said previously, 'Champions' is just the cherry on top. Accy won it last year Looooooooun came 2nd, look at the Lge 1 table now.

Saturdays game is important as they all are but if we win at Northampton that will be huge.
Tranmere or Mk are dropping points that day so a win will really kick us on.
These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

A win on Saturday and I reckon we will take over 1,000 to The Cobblers.

Everyone oughta stay away, we don't perform well when backed by a decent following usually... stage fright

I disagree. If you win the league it is remembered fondly for ever. I bet thinking of 1975 and 1977 will get the juices flowing if you were around to witness them. These are actual honours our proud club can boast about. 1986 and the other 3rd place promotions were good but less defining.

1986?

85/86 under Ian Greaves whom that great big stand is named after? 3rd place finish.

Fingers crossed that 6,000 Lincoln fans will be celebrating an away win at Franchise FC on Saturday and that the Bury players have downed tools again although Carlisle United have been awful lately.
