Fox was the best player on the pitch by a distance.

FT Notts Co 1-2 Grimsby
Grimsby thoroughly deserved winners, much the better side. Winner from an ex-Stag.
Notts County were hopeless. Terrible standard overall, and both sides would be cannon fodder in League Two.

Two former Stags apply the killer touch to Notts County in extra time. Luke Waterfall heads down Jordan Maguire-Drew's free kick and Emmanuel Dieseruvwe knocks it in.

Grimsby were the better team although County could have had a second penalty. Former Burton Albion player, Ben Fox, was excellent in central midfield for Grimsby.

Demonstrates once again the importance of set pieces.

They are such a big club and really don't deserve to be in the national League! They should be promoted because of their history alone it's really not fair is it!

Though it was end to end i was surprised at the quality of the game, obviously been some while since we were non league but christ it was dreadful.

Every ball and movement was so laboured and slow.

I disagree, and not because it's County.

I wonder, if we get to the championship, would you be championing us to be relegated? We've only ever spent 1 season in that league in 120+ years.

I find teams, generally, are where they deserve to be.

It was so end to end but but each break just resulted in nothingness. The ball rarely found its way into the box and when it did it was crap. Same for both teams. Centre forwards were awful.

Neither of those teams would do well in L2.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

All this talk about Birchnall going to FGR is beyond me... They let Grimsby play the ball across the back line without pressing them, and then the County defenders were trying to play it around their own 18 yard box whilst under pressure... which always resulted in a hoof.

The only Notts player (on the night) who looked any good was Lacey, but Fox from Grimsby certainly looked like he should be playing at a higher level, although given the performance of the other players on the pitch, my Mum could have easily fitted in to either team.

Devastating way for the game to end for their supporters, but it was always on the cards, and why that free kick was given away at the end of 90 minutes... it was absolutely criminal.

All the talk about the owners following fottball stats to get the best manger and best playersdoesn't seem to be working out at the moment. They need an overhaul in midfield (O'Brien is past it), and would probably suggest that the likes of Sinclair, Ward, Scott and Caine could all do a job for them.

I think Solihull are the team to beat.... watch this space.

Imagine if Ardley ends up taking Solihull up, after getting the sack by County for not.
