A brave appointment and I just hope he has knowledge of the conference and players attributes needed to succeed at that level.

They are emphasising that it is a long term appointment so maybe they don’t expect promotion this season or next and are preferring to build a solid base to move forward higher.

I think he will be in for a culture shock with the conference and hope he isn’t expecting to play fancy flowing football with no mettle in the side.

We will just have to wait and see but I’d be surprised if he has the knowledge of the league to complete their promotion this year.

You mean like how Barrow did last season?

I think Barrow had quite a bit of metal in their side which is still there. I can’t remember a team getting promoted without that bit of bite and physical presence and hope he realises that. Of course you need some flair as well but flair alone won’t get you promoted without a bit of fight.

But why do that when you can go for the mystery scandanavian option instead.

Hopefully good news for Jimmy but nearly all managers say they want to play football with possession, having the players to do it is another thing.
Don't know how the comparison of non league and Scandinavian leagues are.

It's easy really, it's more the fans than the club itself in some cases, luton fans for sure and I've got a hatred for Bolton now and that can only be the manager whose intensified that.

Cheaterfield hatred is a religion I was bought up with.
