Well according to Evans the clubs medical staff were baffled by the injury. Just seems strange to me that a player was knackered after 45 minutes then three days later played 70 plus, then four days later played 80 plus, then two days later played a full game.

It's not strange to me at all. Makes complete sense.

Hemmings was in terrific form when he was first out injured. You've got to be having a laugh if you think Evans left him out of the huge game against Chesterfield (the first game he missed) for anything other than injury, and replaced him with Sterling-James, with Angol also out injured.

Im not doubting he was injured, but Evans himself said he was baffled by it, not my words.

Just surprised by the remarkable powers of recovery.

I’d argue that he would have come off earlier versus Wycombe but with two subs already made due to injury it pushes Evans to wait and I think the fact that he had two goals on Saturday does the same, but just my opinion mind.

Yes possibly so Jim, no doubt a goal puts a spring in your step, but he also scored against Morecambe and then physically could not move after 45 minutes. Who knows.

He seems to have come back from his injury that little bit sharper. He is a poacher but there is more to his game then that, his awareness and first touch and link up play is good aswell. Dont forget he is still only 26? So there is money to be made on him if he does really well.

We will be lucky if Oxford let us keep him.

His 1st 5/6 games for us were a complete disaster, mainly as he was unfit.

He's slowly but surely done better, his movement off the ball (now fit) is much better and his confidence is up.

Much like Angol, if we can keep him fit and confident, the goals will come

From his CV video he looked like a fairly prolific striker if given half a chance and the goals he is beginning to score mirror that so def keep him and find another burly striker to work with him who is strong and can lay off.

In essence a more upgraded league 1 sharper cross breed between Hoban/ Spencer and Rhead with Green's fitness.

No wonder JR has removed the One Call insurance discount, given how quickly some fans are prepared to declare everything a write-off :P

If Hemmings can stay fit and sharp (and here!) then it puts our recruitment priority very much on Midfield. Who knows - hopefully one of Butcher, Digby, Sterling-James might come good, given how we were wrong about Logan, Mirfin, Diamond, Hemmings, etc.....

Whoever we recruit just needs to be fit and focused, as i'm confident they'll have the quality required

Wow Mutiny...forgot all about Mirfin???
Whats he doing??apart from not a lot!!
Again another signing who has not been as good as was first thought.
think SE does need to of load a few now t make way for fresh blood.

would think Spencer, Digby and Jack T.

Been unlucky with injuries. He looked shaky in his first few games but has improved a lot since , we have Pearce, Bennett, Diamond and Mirfin. That’s a solid league two if not league one back line

Mirfin has undergone a small knee operation after being injured in the Blackpool game.

Do we know when Mirfin will be back?
Also, if Cambridge aren't playing Taft, maybe we should loan him out to a conference side instead, on the proviso that he gets some regular game time ..... Just in case we find ourselves with an injury crisis at the business-end of the season.

In the games i saw Mirfin (the ones after sentence had been passed ;)) he was one of our most trusted defenders - perhaps not as mobile, but provided a better aerial defence than a Typhoon jet fighter! :P

Admittedly he started shakily (as did many a player), but before his injury he was a solid 1st team name on the sheet, so i don't think it's quite as clear cut?

I don`t think Murfin was shaky at all! He came in, unknown at Alfreton and looked solid from then.

Mirfin is a solid defender but 4th in line, when fit, currently.

err he had 2 decent games before he got injured. he'd been useless before that and couldn't even get in the team ahead of Sterling Moss.

Vale, Stevenage, Coventry, Exeter - he played well in all of those and scored in three of them
