Commitment

Postby yellows58 » Fri May 05, 2017 4:03 pm

JR should give SE the money he requires to build and take this tired club out of the dregs of the football league 2. We finally have a management team who know what they are doing. The supporters and the town are right behind them. So show the commitment JR and let them get the tools for the job to get us promoted. If the money required is not forth coming then your dream of championship football will never happen . This is the best chance this club has had ever. I now we went to the old division 1 ONCE.

If this does not happen you will be back to 2000 crowds hopefully with no ambition. and no dream. :head ball:

Steve Evans: Mansfield Town boss wants assurances from John Radford

Steve Evans
Mansfield were 18th in League Two when Steve Evans was appointed in November
Manager Steve Evans has said he wants assurances from chairman John Radford that Mansfield Town will back his desire to win promotion from League Two next season.

Last weekend's loss to Portsmouth means even victory over Crawley on Saturday would bring only a very slim chance of reaching the play-offs this term.

Evans told BBC Radio Nottingham he was "not a League Two manager".

"I need to be sure I get supported to build a promotion squad," he added.

"The first meeting I have to have is to sit down with the chairman and chief executive and make sure their ambition levels are where mine are.

"They have never ever flinched with anything I have asked, but I need to understand their ambitions. If they are at my level then we go forward together, if they aren't then it's a separate conversation."
Taken from BBC Sport. Interesting. Not sure he will get what he wants.

Sounds like he's been preparing an exit strategy.

Old news, this was covered in thread re BBCRN interview after Portsmouth. Personally, I heard him backtrack a little when he said he expected the backing and to be here 1 million percent in the same interview. Said JR had been true to his word since his arrival and that he expected to be here next season

stupid flipping thread.
the fact that evans is here already shows the chairmans ambition.
i know it's a regurgitated story but it's winding me up again.
there's no way that evans should be spouting off like that.
he's already made his get-out clause.
stop spouting off evans and show your ability as a manager with whatever funds you get!
i would prefer not to.

this is the Radio Nottm interview from last Saturday that I posted at the time. Needs to be listened to in full to get the context.

Just shows how the BBC has spun a story from just a little of the interview. Cheers Martin.
