The EFL, Blackpool and Leyton Orient

Postby Johnny Rotten » Wed May 03, 2017 6:47 am

Well I was going to have a rant about the wonderful leaders of our game, the EFL, based upon this;

http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/sport ... -1-8521525

However I now read Leyton Orient fans are 'alllowed' to go now;

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... on-support

A shocking set of events that the EFL should already be extremely unpopular in finishing The Os' final home game in the FL behind closed doors after 'abandoning it' to 'maintain the integrity of the game' to then follow up with the Blackpool debacle

The EFL are showing their true colours that they care little for fans and are here to protect ownership's of clubs - What Becchetti is doing at Orient is appalling and in the case of Blackpool I thought it interesting they tried stopping ticket sales considering the Blackpool owner is hardly great himself and certainly used to be on the EFL board plus they haven't been overly concerned in the past that Blackpool themselves have a history of protesting against their owner!

We should think ourselves lucky we have an owner and board that care rather than asset strip

Leyton Orient always thought the issue of the Olympic Stadium would kill them off, not someone or something from within

Seems sensible if they are just gonna turn up to protest and not allow the game to be played.
They should borrow some tape from Lakin

Before Orient, the tangerines were the most put upon fans in all four divisions. Seems to me that both sets of fans will be on the pitch for the whole game.

You must remember Johnny, that the EFL is owned by the clubs who are owned by the owners. So EFL is owned by the owners and not the fans.

Each club has got one share, so the club owners would be very displeased if the EFL management didn't do what the club owners wanted.

The fans have only one weapon that is to withhold funding and that hardly ever happens to make much of a difference.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

The efl are a joke, they let these horrible owners take charge and do nothing about it but wait a minute... huddersfield put out a weaker team because they've guaranteed a play off place ... let's investigate that!

If it's not played due to a pitch invasion they should declare it void with no points being awarded to either team. That should prevent the Blackpool lot from going on the pitch in the first place.
Who are you calling pedantic? I resemble that remark!
