I'd sooner go up. I don't care about local rivals, i want the club to progress and that requires promotion.

We've got to think bigger than this now I feel. Always great to beat these teams but the club is gearing itself in one direction....heading for The Championship :mtfc:
The Direites think we have small team mentality, as our clubs went in to two different paths over the past 25 years. Hopefully we'll think the same about them in years to come.

These are my opinions , if you don't like them I have others...

Promised lands of higher league football asap. Leave the locals behind. We'll hopefully start new rivalries with the likes of forest derby and Sheff united etc if we sustain a higher league position.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Forest might be ...with a bit of luck.

Imagine Radio Mansfield having to come back to Field Mill to do a Forest away game!

Anyone who went to Cardiff will answer the question in a heartbeat.

NO.
That return journey was one of the worst you can have as a travelling fan.

What do we want? Success
When do we want it? Now!!!

No question...promotion ASAP. It would be slightly annoying that we miss out on all the local derbies but not as annoying as another season in the bottom tier.

What would be REALLY good would be having matches against Forest and Derby in the league...we'd forget Chesterfield, Notts and Lincoln then! The pinnacle for me would be a season where we go above Forest in the Championship and become the top club in Notts. That would be the ultimate prize, bearing in mind that we'll never get to the Premier League (I wouldn't want us to be there anyway).

It defeats the whole point of competitive football if you'd rather stay in league two. Why would you want to go to Wembley and lose so you can have a chance of beating local rivals, nothing's a gimme in football.

Up and leave the Spireites behind. I don't want THEM finishing above us for the next 25 years from next season.

Good point on the competitive football. Such a shame though that league 2 will be set up so well.

Yes but 1 promotion to L1 isn't the only aim is it? JR has sights set on the championship... Where they will all play, is my point.

Normally 50 points is a benchmark for safety..but this season I guess alot less will be required..44 will probably be more than enough

This will mean more points are needed for play off places..73 maybe to get a play off place

No. Promotion every time.

I'd sooner be looking down on the likes of Chesterfield and Coventry from the division above, than playing them.
