Time to stand up and be counted

Postby Stags 2002 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 11:55 pm

Win Tuesday and we could be upto 7th, will even be above Carlise by Saturday if we win the next two and Luton win Tuesday.

Lose and we could finish Tuesday night as low as 13th and personally think that would leave us with to much to do to reach them this season.

Big night and needs a big performance. Its still in our hands as we've still got Exeter to play but need to get back to winning and scoring ways starting Tuesday.

Good post. All to play for tomorrow, seventh place is there for the taking if we can start scoring again.
Mansfield Town, my club even though been exiled in London since 1983.

Be interesting who Evo picks in the striker role to remedy the situation. It's becoming a conundrum for him now. Looking at the League stats (apart from pens) since Jan 1st (13 games) our 'strikers' have managed a paltry 6 goals between them.

In a team looking to press for a P/O spot you'd really be looking at a striker who's bagged 6 himself in those 13 games.

Well this is it. We need 2 strikers and inventive midfielders. What a time for our wheels to start falling off.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Agree Tuesday is win or bust time, the striker headache wont heal up quickly and I think we are going to fall just short this time around.
A good clear out of strikers needed come the end and a big name or 2 needs to be signed to try and get the goals that clearly we are very capable of making with most of the current squad and the additions that will come after the clear out.

Hands on heart could u see us keeping any of the strikers we currently have ????

It'd help if we went with two up top from.the start.
Greeny is never going to get back to scoring regularly playing up there on his own. He runs the channels and works all day, but it's no coincidence that he scored regularly when playing off of Rheady.

Think we've got the midfield half of that sorted. Byrom sprays the ball around at will, would like to see maybe Macca and Potter on the wings instead of CJ. CJ looked very lightweight Saturday.

Attacking wise, were stuck with what we've got unfortunately. Based on results, for me its got to be Coulthirst and Rose, with Greeny coming off the bench after an hour or more.

Keep the faith, there's time yet.

Get back to the side that started against Barnet. This was a settled side that was getting results and after the Accrington game the same 11 hasn't started together again and results and goals have dried up!
