Hopefully frees up some budget to bring in someone who actually performs more than 3 times a season.

I should be bothered, because on his day he's a good player, but I'm not bothered because more often than not he's lightweight and invisible.

Most people's opinion, it's a shame but he's had his chance to prove his worth, he knows Evans takes no prisoners

Shame really as ive always rated him.
Unfortunately he was never gonna be consistent enough for Steve Evans.

Decent in conference

Best of a bad bunch for a while, and I think this clouded peoples judgement of him

Not good enough for a promotion push, certainly not good enough for League 1

Thanks for the effort. Close the door on your way out

Over rated. Murray said "best midfielder in league" never has been. Turns up one game in five.

Sad with news, always been one of my favourite players and I still believe there is a good player in there. Apart from his set-pieces which have been excellent, Byrom hasn't showed much in open play to suggest he is any better, but of course he could still be getting up to match fitness.

Byrom still looks unfit and not very mobile. but no denying his quality on the ball

Although you could see the difference in his weight between the Crewe and County game. He should be that bit fitter again come Saturday

Good move for him. He can do it when he's arsed. But most of the time he's not. However we need a person who is comfortable on the ball and has an eye for a pass. Last Saturday was crying out for a 'once in ten' Clemmo performance.

I think Byrom has played well. His passes forwards are made with intent as opposed to just lumping it. The big difference between him and Clements is that Byrom doesn't slow the attacks down. Evans wants to get the ball forward quickly and the get numbers into the box. Clements doesn't fit that style (although he looked like he could v Crawley)

It'll be interesting to see whether Rose or Thomas start to see more game time. Although I think Thomas will be the next out the door.

Should we be disappointed in this?

He's had 3 and a half seasons to prove he's upto league 2 standard, and he simply isn't.

If he could somehow cobble together some form of consistency he'd actually be alright

Bit of a shame, we need to remember Clemmo is our longest serving player and the only player left thats been with us from the conference? (Obviously Greeny came back)

but i do believe a move will be best for him, has decent ability and with his sort of ability he should be running games at this level, unfortunately he doesn't and I assume that is down to his mentality.

I would think they would have to pay a small fee as he is under contract.

Has quality, lacks desire.

If they can motivate him at Grimsby, he could be made to look fantastic with his assist stats.

He'll be playing in the likes of Bogle, Asante and Yussuf who are natural finishers.

A bit disappointed by this. I like him and think he is the one bit of quality we have on the ball. Its clear however he isn't an Evans type of player. Saturday we were crying out for someone who could bring the ball down and play a bit. Clements is the one player who would look to do that. Its pretty clear though that Evans wants to bypass midfield as much as possible and hit the strikers early. Clements was never going to fit into that structure.

He obviously has a bad habit of drifting in and out of games but you have to look at the quality of midfielders he's been playing with and the lack of movement and hold up play up front. In the right team he could be a stand out player. I expect him to do well wherever he goes.
The Stags are for life, not just for cup finals. (or Liverpool).

I really like Clemo, when he came back from injury earlier this season we all saw what we had missed. Not as inconsistent as people make it, and like all Lge 2 players, if he was more consistent he wouldn't be in Lge 2. Shame, I would have kept him unless Evans has someone clearly better lined up.
