From the article: He went on to suggest that a reformed competition was the most likely outcome.

'original goal of youth development' what a load of rubbish, it's alright for the academy teams but it's not like we can give a good chance for our youngsters because we get fined if there are too many team changes

And now we have EFL Futures. Another badly thought out scheme where an estimated £600k will be shared between L1 and L2 clubs who play U21 English players. A massive £12.5k average per club. This wouldn't even cover the cost for one apprenticeship.

Quite so, with the ridiculous amount of money in the game now it's like me giving a homeless person 1p I'd found on the floor and wishing him Merry Xmas.

Alot of clubs are being asked for feedback from supporters on this. Wonder if we will?

Why can't they accept it is a highly unpopular format that the vast majority of clubs and fans don't want?

Is entrance into this competition obligatory or can we opt out?

So by their own figures the increase in English U21 players was just 4%. This is despite a 33% increase in teams, all of who were supposed to be U21 sides. And they have the nerve to call it a success.

Interesting... was the measure of success that checkatrade paid up on time?
