Not clear if Allen is keeping the ground as per Haslam?

Their immediate remit would have to be survival from the National League North. However they won't be able to afford to sack Sheridan and his backroom staff due to the payoff. If they go down, with a supporters trust at the helm, surely they will at the very least have to go semi-pro?
They might even have to do so relegation or not. It's going to be interesting to see.

Might be ok if they can stabilise, rebuild the fanbase and wait for a real benefactor to come in

If it's right Allen was pumping loads in each week/month even to sustain what they have now, they'll need a big up surge in supporters to break even. Not to mention paying rent or paying him back somehow.

Will enough fans return and watch God awful basement football to "save" them from another drop. Maybe, but it'll need to last or they'll be bust before long.

Trouble is Jamie if everything goes through without any problems it wont be finalised by February according to the report on CFC that's not giving much time to turn around the difficulties on the pitch under Sheridan.

Perhaps Steve Hymas could give the supporters trust a few tips on how to be successful

In a speech to the staff it was stated that the Dave Allen puts in 150k per week to cover wages! That's 1.8m a year before other overheads!

The fans trust better have some deep pockets.

I assume you mean per month.... 150k x 52 weeks is 7.8m

Barcelona
AFC Wimbledon
Wycombe Wanderers
Exeter City
Newport County
Portsmouth
Wrexham
Hereford
Darlington
FC United
Scarborough Athletic

If keeping the club alive and sustainable counts as "worked well" then most have done a decent job. Good luck to them all and all their hard working volunteers.

Yes, Mr Allen will keep the ground

Odds on a Chesterfield casino popping up before the end of 2022, I wonder

I can't imagine many benefits in separating the football club from the ground in terms of ownership apart from benefitting the landlord*
Maybe the main benefit is to get total control of the clubs operations like we did in 2008 and re-attract the dis-satisfied lost customers before they are lost for good thus increasing turnover and sponsorship and improving morale.
Mr Allen will still get his rent without the hassle of owning a club, without the need to keep propping up its losses and with a negotiated future selling price within the rent deal. If the football club side go bust then he still has his asset intact.
The CFC supporters alliance will need deep pockets and a future sale of the club gets more complicated when sold without the property asset unless a future purchase agreement is guaranteed in writing which benefits the alliance and not Mr Allen.
Even with increase revenue and cost cutting measures they will still need to find 50k-100k per month on a regular basis for a period of time (how can they survive this and maintain their level 5 status?)
This quickly could go belly up in a matter of months, they could be better off by sticking with Allen who continues to bank roll them to the tune of 150k per month and hope another investor or consortium rolls up out of the blue, even if they go to level 6 and start with a new team on a fraction of the current budget for 2020/21.
I wonder where MTFC would be today without Mr Radford, perhaps in Kidderminster's position or shudder the thought Bury's position?

* Owners will usually separate them for company tax/liability purposes albeit with shared owners/directors

We would be in deep do dah if JR hadn’t bought the club. Amazing what he’s done, no matter what mistakes he’s made through the journey!!!

Our ground split was only a problem because of the terms Perry and Saunders agreed on it - essentially keeping us in non league for ever. I would assume if they are renting the ground they'll do a deal that won't prevent promotion like we did.

Promotion back to the National League, you mean?
