That’s 1 point clear of a relegation place to regional football

Regional football :D
Love it , never thought of it like that before but my god that's a mighty fall for anybody.

At least there will be no cold Tuesday nights at Sutton, unless they drop further and play Sutton Town

Some cracking games down there though, not that i'd want to be down there

Kidderminster, Chester, Boston, Altrincham, Stockport, York, Darlington, Hereford (whatever they're doing in the north!) Nuneaton (I think) and Southport have all visited Mansfield in the league

Chesterfield have 30 players in their first team squad, a trifle high in my opinion

You seem to forget the holdsworth years where we signed 30 players a week?

I am partial to trifles also. How big is their trifle and does it have lime green jelly in it?

There is the potential for yet more comedy gold next Saturday when they face Billericay Dickie in the FA Cup.

I was there the day Enfield beat them in 1999, it was hilarious.

I have a couple of cousins who played for Billericay back in the day. One is in his 70s now, but I'm sure he'd still give the Spireites defence the runaround.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

At home to Pickering Town, who are in the relegation places in the same league as AFC in the next round.

If they did go down to the conference north (dilly dilly) am I right in thinking there's a real chance there 2 local derbies would be Alfreton and basford

How disappointing for them.

Being local to me, I was at that game, and it was absolutely priceless when that scrambled goal went in, soon shut the 600 travelling supporters up. I am very worried for the poor sheep on the dales up here tonight though...

And 16 games without a league win. Were we ever that bad during the conference? I know we were rank, but we never went that long winless or were that low in the league in November, were we?

Enjoying a little light reading on a Sunday afternoon after the sun went down, I was just reading a book about Francesco Petrarca (Anglicised to Petrarch), said to have initiated the Renaissance and to be the Father of Humanism. He was the first to write extensively about the human soul.

Imagine my shock on reading this part:

'The instincts and training which made it impossible for him to bow down and worship the Stagirite ...'

Ye Gods, was there some inter-marriage with them in the Dark Ages? Did we cast them out as the 'black sheep'? What does it mean?

At least we are safe in the knowledge that the Stags are having a Renaissance and we will never see the 'irites' again.

16 games without a win and took 600. Not a bad turnout though to be fair.
