Think he’ll do well as Clough no doubt will for you.

I can't knock your confidence. You need to get that bet on soon then whilst the odds are long enough and cash in. If you have a good run and win three out of the next four games you will be mid table and within striking distance of the top 7 (maybe only 2 or 3 points away)chambta wrote:Still very early days but the signs are good. Have you lot borrowed more money off the council tax payers of Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire?
A manager who was under contract and five new signings, three of which were under contract and said to have cost fees.
You have certainly had the "new manager bounce". Although it looks like the board has backed him and maybe that's the reason your fortunes have improved.
Early days yet for predicting top seven. A long, long way to go yet in the pit of misery.

The councils lent money, at commercial rates, to the community trust that own the club.
Dave Allen walked away with next to nothing leaving the club debt free barring a few surprises and unpaid bills, so financially we seem solid, especially given what's happening in the wider world.
It wasn't expected that funds would be found to act as quickly as he has but Rowe seems convinced promotion is a realistic aim this season. Unlikely of course, but a breath of fresh air to have a manager talk positively and with a level of footballing intelligence we're simply not used to.
You chaps know the misery of non-league so will understand how it's easy to get over excited at the green shoots after years of abject misery.

It's strange that your previous manager had no money to strengthen the squad. Yet you have had to pay compensation for your new manager, signed five players and two more signings being lined up. And so far not let any of your players go. All this after borrowing council tax payers money and no gate income. With no prospect of fans returning to your stadium for the foreseeable future, it all seems a little bit odd to me.
