Chesterfield apparently need to find £50k quite quickly to pay HMRC and £200,000k for wages and other outgoings.

Apparently, if they had an absolute Zero wage bill, they'd still have to average 7000 at home games to break even on their current overheads.

Nobody knows what these are and why they are so expensive.

At the moment they can only speculate really. The only bloke who really knows the whole story has spat his dummy out and done one.

Funnily enough, if they do somehow find a new backer to keep going, Allen could do to them what Haslam did to us with rent for the stadium.
It's crazy to think that after the Darren Brown saga they were a fan owned club, and the fans voted by a majority to sell the main bukk of shares to Allen.
They placed their trust in a Sheffield Wednesday fan, who seemingly every dee-dah warned them about, and unsurprisingly it's come back to bite them on the backside.

I hope they spend some time in the conference, Maybe drop into the conference north for a short while. If we did 5 years I'm sure they can cope with 10

This could only be funnier if John Batchelor was still alive.

I wouldn't mind them spending 5+ years in the Conference, it would do their fans the world of good.

However, I would never want to see a club go bust, not even our fiercest local rivals. They are human beings (well, some of them), and they are cut from the same cloth as us.

They're in serious, serious doo doo, and it's impossible to see how they can claw their way out of it. This could be the end of Chesterfield FC, it almost certainly is as we know it. Laugh all you want, but lets face it... we are so unbelievably lucky. I genuinely believe we were days away from this happening to us had we not been saved.

Good luck to them. They'll need it.

We have some decent Spireites who frequent this board, for their sake I would hate to see the club go under. However, I do think a spell in the Conference would be amusing for us and a bitter pill for those who mocked us during our dark days. Trouble is, it is only the genuine die hard fan who suffers, it is they who will watch the rubbish in the Conference whilst the 4,000 odd newly found fans will crawl back from whence they came.
