Didn't Ebbsfleet try & fail with this?

This sort of concept failed with Ebsfleet via the my football club brand, but one day will work with the right club at the right time and assuming the membership/ ownership and controls are all right.

Chesterfield aren't a good proposition for this though. It would take what, 10m I guess, to buy everything and stabilise the club. They have 2000 members who've paid £99. Wouldn't touch the sides.

Dave Allen invested £1.5m in the last financial year (likely to have to increase once the parachute payments stop)

This model needs 15,000 people to pay £99 for an app (every year) just to break even.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Would we be willing to pay £99 a year to make the bad choice?

Assuming several thousand Spireites invested in the app....

The last time their supporters voted on anything substantial, they voted unanimously in favour of selling the supporters shares so that Dave Allen could take over!

And with the Ebbsfleet example, initially it had worldwide subscribers whose initial interest gradually waned as time went on. Imagine giving loads of yanks and Chinese casual fans the right to vote on issues that they will have no clue about.

I hope the takeover happens.

Apparently the £99 is non refundable.

The guy behind it is hoping to meet the current Cheaterfield owners and fans.

Maybe they could do something completely different that no-one has done before and run a raffle, get money off folk then make up an imaginary winner.

Oh...

Only if reinstating agent Allen, agent Lester, agent caldwell or agent saunders as manager was an option :hysteria:

It’s on CUFC website that he has resigned and leaves with immediate effect.
The ego that is David Holdsworth will assist the stand in manager, I hope he is on the touch line so we can say hello to him!!

Why on earth would he leave Carlisle when he has got them playing so well BUT then move to Cheaterfield, he may as-well hang on a couple of weeks and move to Clownty.

Reporter at BBC Sheffield reckons Sheridan will be the highest paid manager in league 2 and the conference and on a 3 and a half year deal.

Very good move for the Spireites imo. Let’s hope it fails, but I’m not sure it will.

Just seen this on cumbrian.net

I said when he got the job he'd be gone by Xmas and I was only a week out.
I'm not even gonna pretend to be shocked at this.
He never stays anywhere long. He had 6 jobs in 2.5 years before coming here. Give it 6 months and he'll jack Chesterfield in and be back at Oldham.
The man's a journeyman with the loyalty of a mercenary.

Looks like a match made in heaven....

Welcome aboard Agent Sheridan your mission is to take the sheep to the Northern League if you want to accept it......

Good Luck....

Maybe the alleged take over is a publicity stunt , to alert other would be buyers ?
As for Sheridan I would have thought new players would be more of a priority

People have been ‘protesting’ in various ways for a couple of years.

Mine was to stop going some time ago as I wasn’t prepared to put money into propping up Allen’s house of cards.

chambta, you told us at the start of the season
chambta wrote:I won’t be going to Ebbsfleet, or other non-league s-holes ...

Doesn't sound like much of a protest to me. More like giving up on your club at their worst moment.

Not at all. I don’t except you to understand the complexities of the issues. Just as I didn’t, and didn’t frankly care, when it came to Haslam.

Not going to away games, "non-league s-holes" as you so eloquently put it, has nothing to do with "complexities of issues" surrounding the management of your club. It's simply not putting money into other small National League clubs, that's all.

I have no interest in other clubs. Plenty of others are happy to oblige these outfits though and fair play to them.
