Good signing for the National League. Not good enough for EFL. A reflection of your clubs ambitions Search and Destroy" ?

Alot better than reid or bowery from what i've seen of him at both chester & chesterfield....people on here should really take a hard look at our sub-standard players before commenting!.

I have looked at his record and he hasn't done much in the EFL. Also he's towards the end of his career. Yes he's having a purple patch in non league football. Reid did well in non league and Bowery has played at a much higher level.

If he was in our squad he’d be furloughed ;)

Probably best off being furloughed when you’re a player in the pit of misery.

The stats don’t lie

Six straight home league wins. Unbeaten in eight at the Technique. In those eight matches, Town have not conceded a single goal from open play. The only goal they conceded was a penalty against Wrexham. It is now just two defeats in 16. They have recorded 10 clean sheets in those 16, including in four out of the last five. Akwasi Asante has scored 10 league goals in 14 appearances. Happy days.

The play-offs are on

Probably the easiest chance you will get, half the non league gave up in January.
Would be a total embarrassment if you failed again with the money spent.

It’s just a pity that it isn’t their own money they are spending and not relying on taxpayers to subsidise their furloughed players. I really hope the furlough fraud squad have a really close look at them and any other club up to the same underhand tactics.

Isn't that misuse of the furlough scheme ? Enhancing your promotion chances by cheating ?

Akwasi Asante was highly rated at Solihull Moors and was part of the Solihull team who won promotion to the National League under Marcus Bignot along with Jamey Osborne, Omari Sterling-James and Dappy Afolayan. Marcus Bignot took Asante and Osborne to Grimsby Town with him. I can remember Osborne playing well against Steve Evans' Stags when they beat us 3-0 at Blundell Park in 2017. It never worked out for Asante and he dropped back down to National League North with Tamworth, Chester and Gloucester City. Osborne went back to Solihull Moors. It looks like he's got his career going in the right direction again. Good luck to him. I hope he enjoys a few more seasons in the National League. ;)

There is no doubt they are on an impressive run. They have transformed the team ( the way they have done it is another debate ). Having spoken to one of their fans, I'm told they fancy their chances of automatic promotion this season.

That's not what I meant.
An impressive run doesn't make the club "special".

To people looking at that club from outside at the minute it's a cess pit.

The constant begging and borrowing from the trust will collapse eventually

It all depends on which context you apply to ‘special’.

they’ve won a few games against a few park sides and getting their knickers in a twist over it.

A sign of how far they’ve fallen.

True but it’s a progress for them, the start of the season they were flirting with relegation until they changed management and became benefits cheats.

Really made me smile.
I'm sure there is a number you ring to inform on benefit cheats.
