Team for tonight?

Postby lancer » Fri Mar 15, 2013 8:48 am

This is what i would go for to start.
Marriott
Beevers jones demster jennings

Howell

Briscoe murray Daniel

Chapman
Green

I know Daniels has been off form but i beleive he is better when playing away where there is less pressure on him.

So you would drop Chapman after he has scored 4 in 2 games. Mmmmm........

Chapman isn't suited to the role that Stevenson plays from what other fans have said. I know he's scored 4 already but usually he isn't known for his goslscoring and prefers to play from deep (it's working now why change it?). I would want to bring Howell in as Stevo has dropped off the pace of late, but it would be more of a flat midfield 5 than the triangle we usually play which will isolate Green.

Beevers-Jones-Dempster-Jennings
Briscoe-Chapman-Murray-Howell-Daniel
--------------Green---------------

Subs: Sutton, Stevo, Meikle, Wright, Rhead

See, I wouldn't want us to go 451

It's what we did at Newport when we last lost, I'd keep with the 4411

However of course, it causes that problem of who gets dropped from the middle of the park.

For me, Murray would be kept in the side unless he's tired/injured due to being captain and organising the players, meaning there would be direct competition between chapman and howell, which means that howell would be dropped?

Decisions decisions mr cox!

I can see him keeping the same team. Howell could start depening on fitness but like Adam states I wouldn't want us to go 451. If Howell starts then I can see Chapman doing Steveos roll which I think could work. It wouldn't surprise me if Wright misses out for Speight on the bench

Why change a winning team.

I like Howell and its unfortunate he got injured but we shouldn't be chopping and changing to make people happy. Grimsby was a tough test and we pulled through... play the same team Mr Cox

I would go with that its not a big change to how we play and Stevo has been great but looked a little off the pace in the last few a breather may do him good.

No need to rush Ant back and risk aggravating that injury.

Chapman hasn't averaged 2 per game, its 4 goals in three, so still a very good start though.

I think he is better suited to playing deep. I would be hesitant to drop Stevenson. I think his runs from midfield often push the whole team forward, he encourages attacking play from his team-mates. Chapman is more of a Murray type; play deeper anddig in deep. Tremendous technical ability.

To me I would only ever play Hutch if we played 442.

Which we don't
