Attendance tonight

Postby eggy » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:57 am

Brilliant support this evening, a higher attendance than:

5 out of 8 games in League 1 (including County v Preston)
7 out of 11 games in League 2
5 out of 6 games in the Conference

Here's hoping for another big crowd a week on Saturday :coys:

Heard tonight that all stags are going to be all ticket next season if true think this could be a big mid-take by the club.

Oddly, I was quite surprised there was only 3,000 home fans

I expected the dip in crowd Saturday to account for a bigger gate last night.

Times are tough, of course, so that could be the reason, but I still expected more than 3,000 home fans

Big games / pay what you want offers aside, I think 3,000 home fans is very encouraging. Have we had that this season?

The highest 'home fans only' gate this season was the Boxing Day Alfreton game of 3836. As Alfreton only had 350 in the away end, I suspect quite a few Alfreton fans went into the west stand and Boxing Day is a game were traditionally we get a big gate, plus the Liverpool ticket opportunity.

The only other 'home fans only' gate above 2500 were
Newport, first game of season 2567
and
Telford the other week, 2658.

Last night's 3090 was very encouraging.
Can we play Accrington Stanley every week.

They did have a cash turnstile on the day of the game, in the end.

I think that given Barcelona v Milan was on TV (albeit Sky) and it was a very cold night there were bound to be some 'stayaways' so still a very good effort.

Seems to me we should've done a Woking and switched it to Weds then.

Why is anyone shocked at 3000 home fans, i think its a decent effort... We all know we have 2000 regulars, and then anything up to 1500 or so who might come for big games or if we're doing well. It was a big game, and we're doing well so most of them turned out.

Anything above 3500 and your into glory hunter territory. Fans that go very rarely only for huge occasions.

I'm not sure Jamie.
You remember that footballing team we had when Haslam was here.
We used to get a few then.
