Tuesday Night Games

Postby 88BenM » Mon Mar 04, 2013 9:08 pm

Massive night for us Tuesday and we're not even playing!

Forest Green host Grimsby, a win for the home side and they are right back in the mixing pot, a win for the away team and FGR are dead in the water, but Grimsby solidify their position. A draw would do us nicely, but a FGR win wouldn't be disastrous.

Gateshead v Kidderminster, effectively an away game for both sides seeing as it's being played in York. I can't see anything other than a Kiddie win, but Gateshead are down with the dead men and are definitely capable of getting a result. I don't think so though.

Hereford welcome Newport, a win for Hereford and they keep alive the very faint hopes of reaching the play offs and a win for Newport makes them well on course to lift the title with the games in hand. A draw is neither here nor there for both sides. But i'll be hoping for a Hereford win.

Wrexham take on Ebbsfleet, Ebbsfleet were unlucky at Kidderminster on Saturday reading reports and with Alfreton sneaking a point at the Racecourse who knows? Lets hope they can get something here, they are scrapping for their lives in this division.

Some really interesting fixtures, if the results go our way the Woking game could have added significance.

Hopefully at 10pm tomorrow the table will read:

1. Wrexham P35 GD29 PTS 65
2. Kidderminster P36 GD25 PTS 65
3. Grimsby P33 GD29 PTS 62
4. Mansfield P33 GD21 PTS 62
5. Newport P33 GD19 PTS 62
6. Forest Green P36 GD18 PTS 57

That's everybody losing by 1 apart from FGR and Grimsby who both draw :D

Prefer a FGR win instead of a draw, but agree with the rest

With the exception of Kiddy, all our rivals at the top have been dropping points recently, so hopefully at least a couple of the games go our way tomorrow. As you say, very important evening.

By the way, a draw for FGR will put them on 58 points. ;)

Forest green v Grimsby

Postby frt1987 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 3:22 pm

From a stags perspective, what would be the best score in the match tonight?

Will A forest green win will be a better result than a Grimsby win ? Or is a draw the best result?

FGR win is vital if we want to win the title.

I dont think anyone would think otherwise.

Forest green win is good for title aspirations. Grimsby win good for play off aspirations.

Well that didn't work!

10 Ebbsfleet fans have turned up at Wrexham so they've been let in the directors box for the night

I'd be happy with those results.

Wrexham one not ideal but we can vanquish them when we play them.

A win tomorrow would see us 3 points off with a game in hand over them.
