"Louis stay wide!"

Postby yellas-derek-yellas » Sun Mar 03, 2013 2:07 pm

Game after game after game Louis can't help drifting in to the centre of the pitch. So many times you see a gaping space on the wing where he should be, players looking for him but he is not there. It's not rocket science Louis - SAY WIDE!

To be fair, I thought he looked more dangerous when he went through the centre yesterday. When we came on the inside he cracked one off the crossbar, but when he goes out wide he often struggles to actually get a cross in.

Cutting in is good but its his starting position that is lacking he needs to stretch the play more.

It's how Louis likes to play.

Louis would do well in the hole behind Green with a winger on the right wing. If there is a shot from distance on its Louis who is most likely to put it away.

Louis was a striker before DH converted him to winger when brought here. His constant wandering inside is due to him being a striker and naturally wants to bear down on goal.

Duncan Russell allowed him to come inside and bear down on goal. It's why he managed to score so many goals.

He's more of a wide forward than a winger. (yes there is a difference)

Lets just support this lad while he,s playing as well as he is, the lads a match winner as can put fear in the head of the full back, that said I do like to see a team with two go wide plays beating their man and getting I a cross/shot.

Sheff Utd scout in front of me seemed pretty impressed with Louis, lots of scribbling next to his name on teamsheet

He's very dangerous when he runs through the middle, but if he started a bit further out wide it would give him even more space to run into, as well as more options.

Does anyone know any info about Briscoe's injury?
Is he going to be out long?
Sincerely hope not!

At some point in the run in would like to see Louis "in the hole" behind greeny where stevo is playing. That way we could have Daniel and meikle on the flanks as well. Louis played well there couple of years back when in that position and scored for fun. Not saying drop stevo as he playin well but maybe for twenty minutes at end of a game if we winning. Gives a chance to see if it would work if we lost stevo to injury
