An excellent interview, although it still seemed like big George held back a bit about what was really going on behind the scenes over his departure from FM.

I would encourage all that are interested to listenen to Jason's pod-cast thingy and make up your own mind.

It would be fantastic to get George to do a pre-match interview in the KBS, or speak at an SSA evening or whatever.

The bloke obviously did, and still does love MTFC.

Well done Jason and 103.2 for organising and broadcasting the interview.

Is this where I repeat my long rolled out Amsterdam story?

Brought a lump to my throat listening to the mans affection for our club.
I started watching Stags in 85, the same time George was starting at Stags and he was a legend for them 10 years - even more of one when you think back - would love to see him back at Stags for the fans to show their appreciation of him

I missed that bugger...had to leave to get the last bus home that left at 10.

How times change.

It leaves at 10.15 now.

I remember GF getting a red card at Leeds Road, Huddersfield for attempting to bring down one of their players, missing by a mile but the ref deemed the intention enough to be sent off!! Lol

I also recall his free kick style of a swinging golf club !

A true legend. Had many a conversation with George , a great bloke.
One of the best Defenders to wear a Stags shirt. He was a man mountain who took no prisoners.
Another player who should be recognised in some way.

Very upsetting he didn't achieve more with us as a manager. If any former player deserved success as a manager it was him
