It's off because part of the m62 is closed, I found this out en route to work at 1500, so Grimsby had plenty of time to find a lawyer bare route, if this was us wed be docked 3 points but no doubt they'll get off with it

Grimsby set off at 1 o clock. If they had set off later they would have arrived- as have some Grimsby fans.

The ref made a deadline for 9 pm kick off - Grimsby wouldn't have been able to kick off until 9:30 giving for time to warm up and the ref wouldn't budge.

They have had talks to try and get the match on tomorrow (and sunday), but this has not been possible with them stating they couldn't get officials for it, though the Grimsby chairman had offered stewards & first aiders..

A fatality has been reported in the accident to put it into perspective

Its Grimsby fault for leaving so late, they should leave at 9am to arrive at hotel for pre-game meal at 4pm. They should have known better that motorways are diabolical on the Fridays.

They should be fined or have points deducted for failing to complete the fixture.

Can't really help being stuck in traffic on a road where an accident has claimed lives can they?

Where does it say anyone has died?
And what were Grimsby doing on the M62 anyway?

Their fans are puzzled not to say the slightest bit miffed!

i'm just going by what they said on Radio Humberside my good man. They mentioned somebody had lost their life numerous times on the show. The Grimsby CEO said he thought it was more than one person. I don't see why they would just make these things up, but maybe they are mistaken i suppose.

Regardless of fault or blame, the onus is on the visiting team to make sure they show up. I don't know, what precedents are there for this? All I can think of is when Middlesbro got sick shortly before a game, forfeited the match (and were relegated from the Prem at the end of the season?)

I don't think they will have points deducted or forfeit the game, but they certainly have a bit of a fixture pile up issue.
