The ticketing arrangements for today's game have clearly cost Alfreton a small fortune, in lost revenue. I understand that the Police insisted that the game was made all ticket for visiting fans, following the crowd congestion problems last season.
The main problem for visitors was that there was very little opportunity for supporters to purchase tickets from Wonk Hall, particularly after the Grimsby game was called off. For the arrangements to change, just 24 hours before the game was too short notice for many to change there plans not to travel.
Remember that last season we took nearly three times as many fans to the game.
The poor attendance, coupled with a £4,500 Policing bill for the ground itself has made it an expensive game for Alfreton today.
