He doesn't change. What a load of codswallop. He works closely with his chairman so there are no surprises ! Well I am sure it was a big surprise to JR when he decided to go to China with his job unfinished.

I hope we come back with all three points.

He didn't with us Costa, he walked away. As for sending JR a birthday card, words fail me.

I wonder if the card included the hundreds of thousands of pounds in wages he spaffed on useless players?

I totally agree. Like the two veteran centre halves he signed to replace Pearce. They spent most of their time on sick leave.

…. That useless that we’d lost around 1 of the previous 20 odd games and dead certs for the playoffs if not more.

In his summer transfer window he released 11 players that weren’t good enough and we signed 14. We also lost 3 key players that we had on loan, so it levels out.

It’s definitely fair to say that some of his signings did not work out, but that is true of every manager. He has big squads because that’s just the way he works, and it works for him. We knew what we were getting, we were happy to fund it, and it was all going to plan until he upped sticks. Anybody can dislike him for that, I’m the same, but nonetheless I do find it slightly strange that his transfer dealings are used as a stick to beat him with. He inherited a failing team with us and the same at Stevenage…. If he didn’t make big changes then he wouldn’t be doing his job.

The league doesn’t lie. If you’re honest you’d admit he had us on course for automatic promotion and it was an absolute disaster when he left.

Best manager in many years. We’ve never really recovered from his untimely departure.

At the moment we’re going round in circles, coming close but missing out. That will continue without proper investment.

Don’t blame Clough, blame the lack of funds for new players. It’s so obvious that he’s not getting the money he needs to bring in in the genuine quality you need for promotion. Talk to him privately and you’d get a very different tale to the one he tells in public.

Evans joined us as a League 2 club and left us as a League 2 club. What he did in between means diddly squat. He didn't care two hoots about us becoming a League 1 club. It was mostly about him and not our club.

Dan I simply don't understand why Evans has got any significance in the history of our club as he did not complete a full season. He may have had success at Rotherham, but as I say he joined us as a League 2 club and left us a League 2 club.
