This old bag of bits style squad needs some young blood. For me hartigan had been a let down and stirk a much better replacement.

We have absolutely no need for another midfielder. I wouldn't say he was class though, he started the season well but became very average in my eyes the second half of the season.

I wouldn't break the bank for him, but he is good and young. So we.should get.him in if we can.

We need to concentrate on defence though that I accept.

Hartigan a much better option and prospect than Stirk I think.

I agree , Hartigan although a little slow is very comfortable and robust on the ball , Stirk was very lightweight for me and gave the ball away to much..

I'd be amazed if Clough was even considering him , much bigger needs elsewhere.

If we don't sign one centre half (ideally we could do with two) then we aren't going up with what we have.

That's clear as day to see.

Stirk is 7 months younger than Hartigan. Unless we can move on 2 or 3 of our central midfielders I really hope we don't sign another.

Remember Clough only signed Hartigan because it was too good a deal to pass up.

We have enough to go up. Our best XI is more than capable of it. Issue is get a couple of injuries to key defenders and we struggle.

Need 2 cbs, if I'm being greedy. And a LWB too if Page doesn't work out.

2 centre backs would be nice but I think going to a back 4 is just as important, with Macca and Hewitt as full backs, both lads more comfortable and know what they are doing there plus makes us more attacking - just in my opinion though

If you think hartigan is better than stirk you need your head examining.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

I think they are very different players. Stirk is busy whereas Hartigan is the more creative of the two.

If the rumours are to be believed we were interested in Stirk and we may look to sign him to avoid wider interest in the Summer.

In terms of midfielders I think the club will be in talks with Laps and understand where his head is.

For me I’m not bothered about additions up front . Assuming Page stays fit absolute focus on centre half in January.

a quality left sided CB should have been the number one on his shopping list LAST year never mind this one, missed out on Brayford no plan B
missed out on Naylor no plan B

the transfer policy or lack of it is almost laughable never mind Jaiyesimi & Charltons last minute change of heart ………let’s just hope we do our business early & bloody learn this tx window

Quality left footed centre backs are pretty difficult to find at this level. If they show any potential they get fast tracked up the leagues as everybody wants one.

They're even more difficult to find when you aren't looking .....

Well yes, that’s true. I was more addressing Yorkie’s point, but I suspect he and others would be happy with any centre back at the moment.

Hope they are already looking and using their contacts to see who is available.
Likely to be loan players until end of the season.

Don't understand why we didn't get Piergianni. Now Stevenage captain in the team of the week regularly.Does anyone know what happened with O'Keefe.Another who used to feature in the team of the week often now in a higher league albeit with a team bottom of the league.Centre back a priority then that releases Hawknis as an extra striker.

Given cloughs previous transfer windows i half expect him to sign another central midfielder and a GK

there’s surely got to be a time when it’s dawned on him that we’re hopefully short in defence, surely?

I genuinely believe he’s the one to take us up, but it’s hard to see it with the resources we’ve got now.

I started a new save on football manager to whittle away the time.

Clough signed Tony Craig, 37 year old Crawley CB in the summer. Along with a RWB who I forgot the name of.

In January he strengthened by keeping Danny johnson and signed another CB. Phil Jagielka at 40 years old. Then signed a winger and kept the 3-5-2.

Didn't sign a LWB.

Anyone else notice on the FA Cup highlights how many goals were scored by out and out centre forwards and strikers
