Hardly surprising when he's played at wing back!

I wouldn't put him there either. Hewitt for me all day.

Hewitt is our best right wing back but he’s also our best centre back in my opinion and without him Harbottle would become necessary to put pace in the back three because a 3 of Perch, O’toole and Hawkins although having their individual strengths don’t work as a back three as we saw on Saturday.
I would personally keep Hewitt in the back 3 and have Bowery as the RWB as I think his work rate to track back is 100x better than Gordon’s. Thats until January where I’d try and improve at centre back and free Hewitt to play on the right although what Clough will do, I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

Gordon is a better wing back than Bowery. It's not exactly difficult to achieve though.

He's plenty good enough as a backup option. Whilst Hewitt continues to be our best centre back he can't play both positions.

Not to worry though. Once Oates is back Akins will probably move to RWB.

And he’ll be brilliant there and we will win every game for the rest of the season, right?

I rate Gordon. He's a solid wing back at this level. As for right back? Not so sure. I think if prefer Hewitt at RB and Wallace at LB if there's no Page

Stirk and possibly another young Centre Half from Forest could be signed in January, depends what funds are available (DJ fee ?) as there will be a fee involved for Stirk.
The lad that told me is not connected to the club directly....but knows alot that are !!
Only time will tell if its right ?

Am I missing something here? Why would we be interested in Stirk who completely lost his way last season.

I would have absolutely no qualms if we signed stirk again. Even on loan. He was class and could be our future if we got him permanent.

This old bag of bits style squad needs some young blood. For me hartigan had been a let down and stirk a much better replacement.

Do we need another midfielder? I would say no.

We have absolutely no need for another midfielder. I wouldn't say he was class though, he started the season well but became very average in my eyes the second half of the season.

I wouldn't break the bank for him, but he is good and young. So we.should get.him in if we can.

We need to concentrate on defence though that I accept.

Hartigan a much better option and prospect than Stirk I think.
