Mal Benning has been given another year's contract at Port Vale........thanks to the Stags!!

He had only made 7(7) league apps for Port Vale when we played then on 15th March and thought he would be released at the end of the season. He came on as a sub and delivered the free kick for the third goal and then provided an assist and a goal at Wembley.

Ian Evatt is another manager saying that there is loads of money around in all divisions at the moment.

"It was estimated early last season by chairman, Sharon Brittan, that Wanderers’ budget was between “ninth and tenth” highest in the division. And while signings made in January will have pushed that total up, Evatt remains committed to the idea that he can achieve Championship football without being one of the top spenders.

“My vision for this football club is that we want to be sustainable,” he said. “And that is a really difficult thing to do in football. The amount of money being spent in every division at the moment is incredible and you get to hear in circles about players who have been offered X, Y and Z from other clubs and we won’t be that club. We have a valuation for someone and if we don’t get it then we are happy to walk away. And that isn’t because Sharon and the rest of the board are saying there is no money available – there is money, more than enough – but I don’t want us to be that. I want to be smart and strategic and do things the right way. I am really pleased with where we are at. We have lost out on a couple of targets this summer. It doesn’t mean we will miss out, it just means we have to be patient for the next opportunity and football will always give you one."

Hartley, Paul at Hartlepool has made some signings. He's signed centre half Alex Lacey (29) who was released by Notts County and gone back to Scotland to sign centre half Euan Murray (28) from Kilmarnock and winger Jake Hastie (23) from Rangers.

Swindon have signed Manchester United left-back Reece Devine (20) on a two-year deal. He was released by Man U at the end of the season.

Salford City have signed midfield player Elliott Watt (22) from Bradford City for an undisclosed fee on a two year contract.

Forest Green Rovers have signed left back Harry Boyes on loan from Sheffield United. He was on loan at Solihull Moors last season.

Gillingham have signed striker Scott Cashkett (26) after he was released by Crewe

Barrow have signed former Crewe and Tranmere centre half George Ray (28) after he was released by Exeter

Grimsby have signed midfield player George Wearne on a 1 year contract after he was released by Sunderland. He had been on loan at Torquay.

Centre half Rod McDonald (30) has signed for Crewe after being released by Carlisle.
