Rochdale sign Darlo striker Luke Charman for an undisclosed fee. Charman started off at Newcastle United.

Left back Charlie Daniels (35) has left Ipswich B by mutual consent. He made 240 league apps for Bournemouth.

Ben Gladwin has signed a new contract at Swindon Town. The length of the contract is undisclosed.

Keeper Glenn Morris (38) has signed on for another season at Crawley. He has made 227 league apps for them. 447 league apps in total.

Perhaps Akins is the utility player rather than the striker that NC was talking about….

Was thinking this over last night and came to the conclusion he must be the forward, surely? It would seem overboard now to throw another player who can play striker in to the mix, and probably wouldn’t do morale any favours.

Oates, Hawkins, Akins, Bowery, Johnson is a great strike force, so personally don’t think we need anything beyond that in that area.

Spent a bit of time last night looking at our squad and the depth we have in each area, and it’s looking strong aside from at left back which looks glaringly thin in comparison with the rest of the squad.

One injury or suspension to Macca and it forces our hand to change formation really as we don’t have anybody you’d want playing a large number of games as a proper left back. Even a 2-3 week injury could see him miss 4-5 games with the schedule we have coming up so for me a back up left back is now the priority and if we sort that we’ll be in a really solid place.

Rochdale looking to sign Fleetwood centre half, Max Clark (26), who started off at Hull City and then went on loan to Cambridge United before joining Vitesse Arnhem and then back to Hull last season. He has made 8(2) league starts for Fleetwood this season.
