Carlisle Scorefred Sponsored by Momentum Is Key

Postby STAGS FOR LIFE » Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:04 pm

:) After yesterdays brilliant win in the FA Cup we need to stay focussed and not let our recent standards slip.

Need to get points on the board and put in a determined effort to climb the league .

I like will Forrester. Looks alright now he's fit.

Hes been like a new signing mid way through the season between windows, which ive said all along, as the alternative given the deadline day situation was having just Nartey... but apparently thats shocking business

I hope they extend the loan.

If Nartey fills his potential once fit, we will be able to vary our formations along the back at will and have plenty of competition for places (if Forrester’s loan is extended). It suddenly looks like Stella signings in January may not be necessary and the saved money could be spent on another solid striker.

We may be a good solid mid table side if you look at league positions but we all know recent form has been top three. Without getting too carried away, for the first time in months, l now believe the play offs may be possible.

A win would lift Stags in to the top half of the table, as 3 teams just above Stags are playing on Wednesday.

Given the deadline day situation. Tell me again why we got to that place?

Because Naylor let us down, then our best centre half got injured after the season started. Hughes chose Burton and Oldham wouldn't let their captain leave. So we signed 2 others.

That's 6 centre halfs.

Tell me when the Ginger Judas stabbed us in the back again (ask around about before because it happened a million years before you showed up) and why we scrambled round on the last night at 2200 signing injured reserves?

Don’t flannel it.

I was pleased that we at least got someone in after a complete butchering of the window, just like the last one. You might think that was a good bit of acquisitions but many don’t and didn’t. You’re a Clough fan remember. You’re not a Mansfield fan and you’re proving it on other threads, even defending Bear for his incoherence. Must be all of us that struggle to understand his waffling.

Here we go again with the not a mansfield fan raspberrys.

I wasn't defending bear, I was explaining his message wasn't that confusing.

As for butchering of the window?

Give over, such a ridiculous exaggeration.

2-0 Stags.

Belly is winding you up, Broomo. Just ignore him.

Regarding the summer transfer window, let’s look at who we brought in who have been consistent first team selections, if fit.

Bishop, Hewitt, Forrester, Nartay, Quinn, Stirk, Hawkins, Oates and Johnson. I wouldn’t call that a “butchering of the window.” Add to that O’Toole and it occurs to me we have added some real quality to the squad. Is the current squad capable of top 7? Most definitely. Is it capable of promotion this year? Possibly.

Let’s enjoy the ride. I think we can go all the way to league one this season with a few tweaks and a fair slice of good luck with injuries.

Only my opinion. Tin hat firmly in place.

Think this game may be in doubt. Been to collect tickets and no covers on pitch. Snowing heavily at minute and lots more rain tomorrow. Hope not as looking forward to this one

I presume Hawkins suspension will be rolled to Saturday if tomorrow is off. Depending on how he's recovered from illness, that could be a good thing.

I actually don’t think it would be a total disaster for this one to be off. I know there is momentum but we play again in a few days.

We have had a hectic couple of weeks with some physically demanding games and have also picked up a few more injuries. The Carlisle match will also be a proper battle in very poor weather conditions and a red card would not be impossible. Depending on the cup draw, playersminds may also be elsewhere.

If it didn’t go ahead it would also give the opportunity for a couple of true training days before Saturday.

Obviously I want it on but wouldn’t be at all upset if it were cancelled.
