6 wins in 7, that sort of improvement? Its not an accident, our best players are fit, we need to keep it that way. I've certainly not written off our chances.

Crewe, with a changed team, winning 1-0, play the u23's on Sat

HT Crewe 1-0 Doncaster
This is Crewe's reserves (9 changes from Sunday) versus Doncaster's team from last Saturday and probably against us (apart from the keeper and a defender in the middle of a 3 game ban in League and FA Cup).
Crewe ahead at HT through a good strike from outside the area. They also hit the woodwork, and missed a great chance when the keeper saved. They deserve to be ahead.
Not impressed with Doncaster though Galbraith and Barlow in midfield look ok.

Look at the teams we’ve beaten in the league so far Rob. I’ve no doubt we’re comfortably a mid table side, possibly top ten, but we need a bit of improvement to mix it with the better sides.

FT Crewe 2-0 Doncaster
Crewe hit the bar early in the 2nd half (for the 2nd time in the game) before make it 2-0 with a header from a corner.
Doncaster were terrible in the 2nd half and never looked like scoring.
Crewe had 5 shots on target in the game to 0 for Doncaster.

The players want Wellens out so they’re not playing for him. We win Saturday and he’s a goner.

Spoke to Donny fan who thinks no chance Wellens goes even if we win.

I assume Birmingham are allowing Ryan Stirk to play?

As good as he’s looked the past couple of games I can’t see him breaking into that team this season, it shouldn’t be a problem.

He's on loan for the season, so it would very surprising if they didn't allow him to play.

That isn't correct in practice, although Stirk is on a season long loan there is usually a clause that allows the parent club to recall their player in January. I also believe that having recalled they cannot loan the player out to another club during that season.

Correct me Martin if I am wrong.

There is certainly a recall clause, Nigel Clough always puts one in. He is on loan until the end of the season. But could be sent back or recalled. That looks highly unlikely.

On your other point, a parent club could recall a player in January and loan him out to another club. I don't think that is going to happen here.

Radfords really splashing out on getting Christopher Nolan to direct our match previews.

Donny are in a Catch 22 situation. Wellens has alienated a lot of the players and fell out with staff. A goalkeeping coach has left this week after 8.5 years at the club. Wellens' brother is moaning about Donny having the lowest budget in League 1. A lot of Donny fans want him sacked but think that the club cannot afford to sack him.

Wellens sacked.

Not ideal, imagine their players might have a spring in their step now.

Might add a few to home gate

I'm not surprised Wellens has been sacked. Last night's performance was abysmal, like our performance against Barrow when Graham Coughlan had to go.
