Looks like Adam Granduciel stood next to George Foster in the top picture :)

I can still here the sound of Kearney’s leg breaking.

Really no pun intended because it was horrible, but the sound was bone chilling.

Yes it was truly horrendous. Mark lived just down the road from me on Big Barn Lane at the time and I saw him regularly during his rehab. He was a great player for us but as Dan says, was never the same after the injury. Same can be said for David Kerr.

And ironically it was a tackle from Lee Peacock who was playing for Carlisle who done Kerr in of memory serves me rightly.

'Charles, Kearney and Coleman in the thrilling FA Cup tie against Wolves'.

Can't have been that thrilling as it does not even register with me with these players playing.

Now if you mean the League game where we beat em 3-1 well then yes that was a thrilling game, and even more satisfying to wipe the smile off Steve Bull's mug after he'd swaggered and gestured in front of the NS after scoring.

C'mon John these folk who are captioning these pics are making you look clueless and need a slap.

Well pointed out. I didn't even pick up on that, it certainly was a league game.

Pic 5, with the caption '1985: Some very familiar faces on this 1985 Stags youth team picture', there's McKernon, Coleman, Bealsley, Stringfellow and Jarman that I recognise. Have I missed anyone off that I should know?

I knew John Almond. Proper salt of the earth kind of man. Made his money being a coal merchant. Really nice bloke. Having to sell the club to Haslam hurt him, especially when the cash cow loans became public knowledge.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.
