Stags rejected a 'significant bid' last week for striker Matt Green from a Conference National Club, boss Steve Evans reveals in a fans' Q&A Speaking in a fans question and answer section for the clubs website following the hugely successful “An Evening with Steve Evans” night, the Stags boss has revealed the club turned down an offer from a club in the Vanarama National League. “Matt Green was subject to a significant bid from a club in the National League in the last week or so which was turned down.” “The Chairman [John Radford] put it to me and said ‘Do you want to accept it?’ I said ‘No, he’s going to play a part’ so we turned it down. Matt is a good and a big player for us.
