Boston United have appointed Adam Murray as the club's new first team manager.

The 35-year-old has assumed control at The Jakemans Stadium with immediate effect following a successful spell in charge of Football League side Mansfield Town.

United chairman David Newton told bufc.co.uk: "We went through a thorough process to find the right person for the job and we are delighted to unveil Adam as our new first team manager.

"Adam was the outstanding candidate and certainly impressed during the interview process.

"Despite being relatively young in managerial terms, Adam has impressed at Mansfield Town and we are extremely pleased to have him onboard.

Adam Murray has been named as the new Boston United manager - after being described as the ‘outstanding candidate’ by chairman David Newton

The 35-year-old former Mansfield Town boss has been handed the task of lifting the Pilgrims up the National League North table after a poor start to the season sees them lying in 15th.

“We went through a thorough process to find the right person for the job and we are delighted to unveil Adam as our new first team manager,” Newton told the club’s website.

Murray’s first game in charge will be the away contest at FC United on December 17, followed by the home encounter against Curzon Ashton three days later.
