Adam Murray will take temporary charge of the first team, whilst the process of finding a successor now begins.

The club would like to place on record its thanks to Paul Cox for his efforts whilst with us and we wish him every success for the future.

Chairman John Radford said: "I've had a long discussion with Paul Cox this afternoon about the future of the club. As you know, this is a club which both Paul and myself hold very close to our hearts.

"Unfortunately, as a result of those discussions, Paul and I have regretably reached the conclusion that it's in the best interests of Mansfield Town Football Club if he stepped down from his current role with immediate effect. Therefore, the search now begins for a new manager."

Mr Radford continued: "I want to thank Paul for everything which he has achieved with the club over the past three-and-a-half years. We wish him the very best of success in the future.

"Finally, it remains for me to ask for all supporters to unite behind the club and whoever is appointed as our new manager, to ensure that the team has the best chance of achieving the successes on the pitch that we all want."

I would like to place on record my final thanks to Paul for his efforts and achievements whilst with the club.
Despite us now parting ways in the best interests of the club, Paul's overall record of third place in the Conference Premier, followed by winning the title the season after, and a 11th placed finish in our first season back in the league, was excellent.
Paul has given us some excellent memories over the past three and a bit years and I wish him every success in the future.

I have just had a long discussion with Paul Cox around the future of Mansfield Town. As you know, the Stags is something which both Paul and I hold very close to our hearts. Unfortunately, as a result of those discussions, Paul and I have regrettably decided that it is the best interests of Mansfield Town and Paul if he should step down from his current role with immediate effect. Paul will therefore not be in charge of the team for tomorrow’s game and the search starts now for a new manager. I want to thank Paul for everything he has done for the Club and all that he has achieved. We wish him well in all that he does and want him to know that he will always be a welcome visitor in the Director’s box and we hope not to see him in the opposition dug out. Finally it remains for me to ask for all fans to unite behind the Club and whoever is the new manager to ensure that the team has the best chance of achieving the successes on the pitch that we all want.

Perfect time after a great weekend to reflect on a great 3/4 years for Mansfield Town FC under Paul. His achievements in that time should...
never be forgotten. So thankyou to him for all he did during that time. Now we need everyone to pull together in this new chapter for #MTFC

Got no sympathy at all. What he done to me in summer was nothing short of disgraceful. Offering a contract then ignoring calls/texts for..
weeks when I wanted to re sign. Then come back from hol and he rings saying I've been playing games and I've been playing games! All this...
a week before pre season when no chance of a getting another club!! Could mention more examples but I'll leave it at that!! RANT OVER
