We are pleased to announce that we have captured the signature of Bulgarian Under 21 international goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov on a six-month loan from Nottingham Forest.

Evtimov is no stranger to manager Paul Cox, having appeared for us in pre-season - keeping goal in our 3-1 home victory over Notts County.

A product of the Forest Academy, Evtimov broke into first team circles at the City Ground in 2012 and has continued to make good progress as a young goalkeeper.

He was named LFE Apprentice of the Year at the 2012/13 Football League Awards in recognition of his tremendous work both on and off the field.

Evtimov, who has gained senior experience from loan spells at Ilkeston, Gainsborough Trinity and Nuneaton, has also received international recognition, having being capped by Bulgaria at Under 19 and Under 21 levels.

The 20-year-old is eligible to stay with us until Saturday 03 January 2015 and has been allocated the number 23 shirt.

Meanwhile, we can also confirm that Cameron Belford, who was with us on non-contract terms, has left the club.

from Stagsnet match report (vs Newport) by Martin Shaw and Jeff Barnes:
Before the game, the signing of keeper Dimitar Evtimov on loan from Nottingham Forest was announced to replace the departed non-contract keeper Cameron Belford. After the game, Paul Cox explained that John Radford has told him that no more players will be coming in at this stage even though Amariā€™i Bell has returned to Birmingham City and Liam Hearn is out until Christmas. The signing of Evtimov was agreed before Cox was told this.

Wrexham loan deal for goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov collapses

Wrexham manager Kevin Wilkin has said the proposed loan deal for Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov is now off.
Evtimov, 20, had been due to arrive from Championship club Nottingham Forest this week,
But a move has stalled due to a difference in regulations between the Football Association of Wales and the Football Association much to the frustration of Wilkin.
"They [Forest] weren't happy with the deal," Wilkin said.
The Wrexham manager said the deal had fallen through because red tape between the two national associations could delay any instant recall.
"He came in, everything to sign on Monday," Wilkin added.
"Nottingham Forest wanted an instant call back on Dimitar. The instant call back wasn't available and decided it's highly unlikely it will go through now."
